I bought this from this AusPost deal 8 months ago for my daughter. About a month or 2 it dead, I've been lazy but will get onto it today or tomorrow. In short it stopped charging and gets a burnt electrical smell anytime you try to charge it. I spoke with AusPost today who said bring it in but they're unsure what will happen - whether replacement, repair or refund. I'm hoping for the latter to be honest.
Just curious if anyone elses died and if so what was your outcome?
Yeah, possibly more likely the circuitry as the battery has still held very low %, just won't accept a charge. Either way it needs to go, will be chuffed if I can get a refund and just buy something better.

Yeah tried different chargers, it's certainly coming from the phone. It gets red hot to the touch where the USB plug goes into the phone port.
Have a look inside the USB port with a torch, a couple of pins may be shorting. Hopefully the damage is on the inside of the phone that you cant see otherwise they may say it's caused by mishandling.

sounds like the battery is crapped itself or the circuitry inside the phone jucing the battery.
