30% off Patagonia Rio Gallegos Waders - Zip-Front: $545.97 (Were $779.95), Standard: $454.97 (Were $649.95) @ Tom's Outdoors

40

30% off Rio Gallegos zip and standard waders. Various sizes available, but don't be tempted to go up or down a size to suit stock… you don't want a pair that are too big or small in any area. Given the current state of the fly gear market I'd doubt to see waders on sale again. They have an eBay store if you feel the need to stack codes.

They're top of the line, on par with Simms. They don't get the same set of stations (no fly patch or zinger), but are of the same build quality. They are made in Vietnam, rather than US, which IMO doesn't mean anything in terms of quality for a company with strong supply chain control like Patagucci (despite what most patriots will tell you).

You'd really have to love wading to spend this much on waders.

    • If you love fly fishing and not having trench foot from standing in water all day then it's a reasonable expense. They should last 10 years also.

    • I spent $350 on my Simms waders and can say it was definitely worth it for the spots along the rivers I've been able to hike to and fish. Going for the lesser brands does tend to end in blisters and leaks when you do the miles some of us do.

  • Patagonia run 30% off online a few times a year, so waders do go on sale. But assuming Tom's inventory system is accurate, at the moment they have stock so I'll give a +

    • When's the next sale?

      • I've been keeping a keen eye for the past 12 months and one hasn't come up. Maybe they'll put the sale on after the spawn run? Or at least after the end of this season?

They know their products can sell without a sale like Kathmandu.

Should have kept a 'keen eye' on OzB. 30% off sale 25 November 2016 was listed on here. There was another one around that time as well that might have run for a week. Other stores like RiverFly and Essential Fly Fisher in Tas are worth checking.
