Are there any good free eBay snipers apart from Gixen?
I also used BayGenie in the past (in case there was a problem with Gixen) but it stopped working and always says there is an internal server error? (I tried to reinstall it, but it gives me the same error message.)
I looked at GoofBid, but it is not free any more and I don't buy much on eBay, so I don't want to pay a monthly fee.
Any ideas? What are you using?
Is JustSnipe good?
Thanks!

I will have a look at it, thanks.
Is there something wrong with gixen?
I've used it for ten years without any issues
No, but I like to have an alternative in case something goes wrong. It is usually good, but occasionally it failed to place a bid. I don't know, maybe I should pay the yearly fee for a second Gixen server and just use the second server as an alternative if something goes wrong? It is not much if I remember correctly.
JBidWatcher. It's Java based but it works.
Thank you!
I don't like giving out my password to random companies like these tbh.
That's why you use something like JBidWatcher.
Free, Local and open source so you can be sure your password isn't being misused.I was really afraid too when I started to use these programs, but I didn't read any bad stories and I have actually never been hacked either.
I had thought ebay incrementally bids up to your max.
What benefits would I get from a sniper program?
Bidding towards the end usually keeps the price lower because people don't go crazy trying to win and outbid somebody else, and sometimes you can't be in front of the computer when an auction ends, so a sniper program helps.
eBay app or just eBay in general. I put my max bid in and away it goes.
The problem is that the price can go up more if people bid a long time before the end because then somebody wants to outbid them etc.
If the items are in Australia I can usually bid myself, but when they are overseas sometimes auctions end in the middle of the night,So it's like a scheduled bid? It'll drop something at X time of the day?
Yes, it is like a scheduled bid seconds before the auction ends (or at any other time you choose).
@OzBargainGrabber: And here I am staying up late hours to snipe at the last seconds.
Gixen
i have used justsnipe.com
I've used Gixen.
esnipe was good, but it's been years since I used it.
Still have to pay but it was only like $1 per snipe.
I figured if sniping wasn't saving me more than $10, then it probably wasn't worth sniping anyway.
