Yes that appears to be one of the folk names even though it's not a true guava.
Looks like a Fijawa (sp?)
Feijoa. From NZ.
Don't pick them off the tree, the ripe ones will fall onto the ground and are a lot tastier.
what bananas r u eating?
Feijoa…the most underrated fruit sold in Australia….not to mention reallty expensive here but so easy to grow at home. oh god, i could eat these all day!
how easy to grow i hate the expensive part :(
literally dig a hole and drop the tree into the ground….a sunny spot in your yard is best….I know thats \just generalising, but a quick google will help you out….my family and extended family all have trees and they pretty much maintain themselves…all you have to do is setup a deck chair under a tree and catch them when they fall on your noggin lol
Absolutely! My last house had a tree that produced quite a bit!
We had a tree in my childhood backyard.
They make awesome missiles.
No one ate them.
looks like some sorta guava.
Definitely a feijoa.
Do feijoas have as much issues with fruit fly as guavas have?
Yes, I have 10 large trees in a hedge.
I get bucket loads of fruit but almost all is stung by Queensland fruit fry.
bugger! thanks though
Feijoa, the best tasting fruit ever!
That's a pineapple guava
