After seen some of the QC35 deals, decided to have a look at the Sony MDR-100ABN (RRP $499) and was pleasantly surprised to see them for $294 in Harvey Norman!
Still registering some stock in Maribyrnong store, Melbourne QV (VIC) and possibly others.

Hi, I had compared this with the Bose in JB once and I was happy with the Sony. I liked the ability to turn off NC and also the Sony sounded slightly better in my opinion. The Bose was definitely better in NC. I'm sure the 1000x is great but more expensive.
I've tried both and the mdr1000x. The qc 35s do have better nc but the sound is quite bass heavy for my taste and a bit muddy. At this price these are a steal, second cheapest I've seen them in aus. I have them in green (which I think sony calls blue). I a/bd the this pair with the 1000xs when I was in Japan and although the sound was slightly better on the 1000x (personal opinion) it's a lot of difference to pay for better nc and touch controls which I don't like.
Not to be that guy but these have been much cheaper. I believe they were 199 or 249 if you ordered online.
They are good but not in the same league as the x1000 or qc35.
With the new budget Sennheiser range, it is harder to recommend these.
Looking through OB history you appear to be correct! And I regret missing out on them all but currently this is the cheapest I could find.
Feel burnt the 200 dollar seat I got for 70ish in dick smiths closing sale sounds like garbage, hope this is better
I got these on the last deal, $249.Sony kiosk matched the HN deal I also compared them against the bose qc35's and I preferred the sound in these. The main reason I got them was for the cordless feature. I actually prefer the fact there is a little less NC as I can hear my surroundings. The fact they were nearly half price made them even sweeter.
Make a playlist and try them both at JB. They may even match the offer?
This model is not in direct comparison to QC35, you probably mistaken this model to MDR1000x.
