Crucial MX300 are slightly better, but they're cheaper.
If lucky you can find (M.2 or 7mm Sata):
256GB ~$90
512GB ~$150
750GB ~$200
1TB ~AU$310
2TB ~AU$700Good performance, great prices.
Any step above and you're looking at the Samsung Pro 960's NVMe SSD, or PCIE-based Intel ones.
But flash prices are on the rise, have been for several months, and will be for several months.
We should see sharp price drops mid-2018 as the major HDD players stop making/selling HDD's and focus on SSDs.
I think; 512GB for $99/1TB for $200/2TB for $450, will become common bargains… but I doubt this extra margin will mean lower laptop prices.
It's a bad time to buy SSD's due to supply of storage so don't expect super low prices.
