  • advertise on gumtree for someone to drive it over, like a relocation rental.
could maybe even come to an arrangement on fuel if they are a tourist.

fly over and drive it, half the fun

or ill do it for $500… that will cover fuel for me, and a nice drive

I'll do it for $499 … but you probably wont see me again.

  • I would fly over….

and have a driving holiday back.

BTW what car did he win?

put on the train for about $800

    • Only that sort of price if you accompany it afaik.

      • you're probably right spackbace, that was the price when I brought my car along…

        • I've heard the train is noisier than expected, at least that's what mates said doing Perth - Adelaide. They barely slept!

I agree with the others, fly over drive back.
What sort of car? Is it worth driving over?

Youre gonna have licensing issues over here unless you have a relative that lives here (then you're fine) - source: I'm a car salesman

    Oh and big congrats :)

    • Did you win the bidding on eBay or won it as a prize?
Edit wasnt meant to reply to you

      • Hubby bid on Ebay.

    • Hello Spackbace what licensing issues?

      • If the car already has rego you should be fine… I think

  • I have used the train a couple of times, and at the time was the cheapest option. They have some restrictions (like you can't have anything in the car), but was relatively hassle free.

  • I'd pick fly over and drive back, but it would want to be a comfortable and reliable car. Not sure if I'd be keen to do 4000km in an unknown classic car though.

Transport to Adelaide on a Prixcar truck (formaly Toll) cost $407 for a Falcon sized car and then drive. Beware of using train as this is dearer and can damage the suspension on your car.(this i why Holdens stopped using rail for their interstate distribution in the early 90s)
