After following a number of promotions on eBay over the past few years, it's fair to say we've had our fair share of deals during that time. Taking the sizzle out of the sales have been the pretty remarkable pricing jumps countering, or fully eliminating any benefit derived from the sales.
Kogan famously got fined doing just that and you can read more here from the ACCC itself:
Now, if you believe that a store (a storefront on eBay like Kogan, Good Guys etc.) is doing a similar practice during eBay's sales, that are meant to genuinely provide value to buyers you can report them to the ACCC. To do so, it's useful to include examples by taking screenshots of the item listing, and even using the historical evidence of the price being increased before/during the sale.
To report, follow this link:
To look at pricing history one way I know how to look it up, is to look at the selling history for the item, or the seller. It shows that the same item being sold, how long ago and for how much. It's hidden under the advanced search settings.
thanks, but you fail to realise Kogan is different to eBay.
eBay is a marketplace
Kogan is a business
the ACCC can target Kogan however they cannot target Ebay
