  what makes this better than your run of the mill Breville?

  Is it just the name?

  for example, this has an 85W motor, whilst a bog standard Kambrook is 300W

    Kambrook 300W is a 5 speed mixer, KitchenAid has 9 speeds. Most cheap hand mixers have limited number of speed, which gives you less control in my opinion. I've had flour and cocoa powder flying everywhere using lowest speed with my kmart hand mixer. Apart from speed and the motor, you're basically paying for the brand :)

      and thats the thing, if you're mixing something really thick I assume the 85W motor will burn out faster?

        They probably want you to buy a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer to mix something thick :)

        @bdl: I already have one though sometimes its more convenient to get out the old hand mixer.
