Hi everyone,
Left it a bit late because I fly out Sunday night, but what is everyone's recommendations for travel sims? More want it for $20-$30 credit in case need to make urgent phone call. Would love a little data on it too in case google maps needed in urgent situation when wifi not available. I'm going to Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia and Croatia. I currently have a Telstra byo plan. Hmm wonder if it would be just as cheap to turn on international roaming if needed in a sticky situation.
Thanks

Vodafone Europe seems to allow free roaming in Europe, no extra charge. At least when you buy in Germany.
Worth while checking with Vodafone website of the first european country you touch down.Try. Vodafone Italy. I think most carriers do international roaming within the EU for free now as they aren't allowed to charge for it.
Shame you aren't going to the UK first. The 3 sim is my go to recommendation.
If you were going via the UK I would say pick up a Three SIM and jump through the hoops to activate "Feel at Home", since they include all of those countries.
You might wanna grab this before it expires tonight
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/306882You might be able to buy a vodafone de sim, get the smartphone special only
for calls, Lyca Mobile has free roaming which I accidentally found out and pleasantly surprised.
Vodafone and TIM in Italy both do tourist sims, but they're specific to Italy only (if you're there for a long time it may be worthwhile doing a specific one in each country)
only ever been to Italy in EU so can't comment on ones that roam beyond there sorry, hopefully someone else can help :D
can highly recommend data for google maps, especially in places like Venice, i can't even begin to imagine how hard that place would be to navigate without google maps :D
