Lol this is just a monitor with poor resolution
I've got the 55" version (paid 460 delivered) and no complaints so far
You can't call that a fault, it's just got outdated technology. It works as expected, but sure, the seller should make that clear as a buyer beware.
Either way, for that price, brand new, you wouldn't expect miracles.
If, after all that, you feel the irresistible urge to watch the crap that free-to-air has to offer, get a set-top box, or run the antenna connection through your Xbox One, or even over IP through free view (now Chromecast compatible).you joking mate? no sound in hd channels isn't a fault? and they still offer $100 cashback?
I'd say that they'd offer the cashback to cover the fault of their marketing and/or retailer's lack of information.
Outdated technology? Like, pre-1920's technology? This hasn't caught up to 'the talkies' yet? If it can't play sound when in a certain mode then it's a fault.
Free to air only supported HD in the past few years in Australia, so no.
There are plenty of old TVs that work with digital free to air, but won't decode the HD signals, or only do it partially. Does that make them faulty? No, they're outdated and require new hardware.@bbqandbargains: this has got nothing to do with digital vs analogue
@bbqandbargains: But this TV does support HD, but when you use it in HD mode it doesn't have sound. If it didn't have HD then that would be a lack of a feature, but to have the feature and not have it work correctly is a BUG.
Imagine it was a phone. It was sold as a 4G phone when there were no 4G networks in Australia. It worked fine on 3G. It turns out that on 4G the microphone doesn't work; it's got a bug. Sure, you could lock it to 3G only mode and it would work - like this TV will work in SD.
@bbqandbargains: That's not true; FTA HD has been around much longer than the past few years. I have 1080i HD free-to-air recordings from almost 15 years ago (2003). MPEG-4 HD, however, is a more recent introduction.
How does this compare to an LG OLED55C6T?
