Hi guys,
Just wondering how much does it usually cost at hair dressers to have someone do my makeup and hair for a party? I've got a quote from someone for $160, but I don't know if that's cheap or expensive.
Thank you!

Thanks, cupcake.
Yeah, thought about the tutorials, but we're kinda scared we don't get it at the end and make a clown out of ourselves :P It is for a wedding, yes.
Your sister got a good price. My friend's bride makeup price is $900 for her alone, which includes a trial, morning and night makeup and hair. Her mum's makeup and hair is $140.
You could try and enquire at local hairdressers. They would have local makeup artists they could refer you to. Normally they are a bit cheaper than someone you google online with a proper website.
My sister was happy with her hair and makeup on the day. The trial was an extra cost before the day. There was also an extra cost for hair and makeup for their pre-wedding shoot.
The only thing my sister wasn't happy about was the fact that the makeup artist was late. Her wedding was at lunch time but the makeup artist didn't show up super early. She had another client before my sister! She did two jobs in the one morning which isn't fair because it means my sister's wedding party makeup had to be rushed? If you know what I mean.
oh, ok, thanks for the suggestion. I'll do that :)
Yeah, that's not fair at all. Especially that she needed to do your sister's make up and the bridesmaids too. Lucky her make up turned out well, what if they ran out of time?? :/
If my sister knew, she would not have booked her. So make sure you ask the makeup artist if it is her only job that morning. My sister should have been told and not have to ask actually, especially if she risked not being on time. You never know what can happen. Family members of the bridal party might ask at the last minute to get their makeup done and she might not refuse that extra work you know?
Also, find out what products they are using. It should be good quality makeup that lasts all day and photographs well - like Mac and Hourglass. I reckon they should all have an assistant, be organised, have all their own clean brushes and cleaning supplies etc. They can easily forget things like false lashes and glue and anything really and it can upset you on the day, so get someone who is organised which means you have to try and find out all these things before you book them. A trial is a good idea.

Hi there,
I recently did my hair and makeup + travel fee for a family photoshoot for $230 :)
Hope that helps x
I recently made an eyelash lift https://yumilashes.com.au/shop/ really liked this procedure. Now my eyelashes looks great!
You will fit in this price range. You can also do some makeup yourself. I believe that eyebrows and eyelashes do the job. I highly recommend eyelash extensions https://starlashstudio.com.au and you will look great!
$160 for someone to come and do your hair and makeup?
That is a good price for Sydney.
Alternatively, you could just watch makeup tutorials and do it yourself.
That is how I learnt to apply makeup and it takes practice but you get better and better at it.
Is it for a birthday party?
If it is for a wedding, you should get a professional to do it because they use great products that photograph well.
My sister paid $900 for her wedding makeup for herself, mum and 3 bridesmaids including hair but that was a few years ago.
