Unattainable SMS offers from Red Rooster

I'm a little confused and have had similar situations lately with Red Rooster;

I received an sms with an offer of $33 for a Family Roast delivered. I followed the link and logged in with my Red Royalty credentials and proceeded to search for the 'Family Roast' deal as mentioned… In 'Limited Offers' one would think…. no, no.. not there. I soon looked in 'Family Deals', no, not there either..

I called the restaurant and asked for the same deal via phone order. The poor girl had some obvious training and had asked if I had added the order for the deal to activate, I informed her there was no such deal and as I had tried adding random meals to the cart to see if they qualified for said 'deal' with no luck.

The employee asked her manager and after some muffled conversation I was informed that the deal can not be honored as it was not available on the tills.

IF this is the case, what is going on? Red Royalty offer a deal that can not in any way be honored?

It doesn't seem right to me.

  • Red Rooster uses Fiverr to set up it's marketing campaigns.

    Maybe they should switch to selling herrings.

    So it looks like it was a stuff up. They should have honoured it anyway. Complain to head office if you still want the deal, they might give you a free chips or something for your trouble.

    • The previous sms deal was the same issue and I shrugged it off as a stuff up. Thanks for the advice, I have already forwarded my experience to their feedback channel.

      • As a rule, the people in marketing etc. at head office are really keen to hear from punters, whether it is good or bad. The local stores get sick of cranky customers and are paid low wages, so referring to head office is always a winning approach.
        Well, almost.
        I bought a roll of GLAD garbage bags once and they were faulty (one side wasn't sealed, so couldn't be used at all). Called the HQ, got a positive thanks response, pop the roll and packaging in the post so we can track which batch it was etc. and we'll send you a gift card to thank you.
        I dutifully posted my $7.50 roll of bodgy bin bags off, and got a $5 gift card by return mail!

        • Hahahaha and did you pony up for the postage too?

          I'm sorry but that's just too funny!

        • @Drew22: I am interested too! Shows how much they respect feedback? Is that the point?
