Hi All,
I have booked a return flight with Tigerair, however I don't plan on taking the outbound flight, but would like to keep the return leg.
Do you know if they will cancel the return leg, similar to a full cost carrier?
Thanks
Cecil

Check to see if they are separate bookings as
Fares quoted are per person per one way journey. All fares are subject to change until payment is made in full and all seats are subject to availability.
but
4.2 Validity
The Booking is only valid for the Passenger(s) named and the flight(s) specified in the Flight Confirmation subject to any subsequent changes in accordance with these Conditions. A Booking expires if the passenger has not travelled by the date of departure. In such a case, there will be no refund. A Booking may be changed prior to the date of travel, in accordance with these Conditions and any relevant Policies, and is subject to any relevant charges and fare difference as set out on the Website.
To play it safe I'd give them a call.
Pretty sure with most airlines you can't unless they were booked separately. I think this is the relevant clause in their conditions:
A Booking expires if the passenger has not travelled by the date of departure. In such a case, there will be no refund.

Edit: kywst beat me to it. Anyway I think the definition of "booking" is also relevant:
Flight Confirmation means the documents issued, electronically or otherwise, by us confirming a Booking and containing a booking reference number…
Booking means the details we have relating to a Journey by you as evidenced by the Flight Confirmation…
Journey means a flight or flights pursuant to a Booking.
So basically everything under the booking reference number is "expired" or forfeited.
Thanks Guys, thought that would eb the case, will call them to confirm though!
Thanks
Cecil!
AirAsia and Jetstar don't cancel return legs if you miss the outbound leg. Definitely worth checking if Tiger does the same. Perhaps report back what the answer is for the benefit of others.
Sounds like you're experienced! haha
Is this the case even if both flights are under the same booking number?
I've always thought that the return leg is cancelled if you don't board the outbound flight, if they're under the same booking number. I obviously could be wrong.
AirAsia's FAQ confirms they don't cancel other legs in your itinerary.

Some comments here from people not getting their Jetstar flights cancelled when they missed the first flight.

I do agree though that traditional full service airlines will cancel the rest of your itinerary if you don't show up for your first leg.
ring them up, i am certain every airline would cancel if on the same booking.
you could chance your luck goto airport and pray the flight is cancelled and then ark up and pretend to be upset. tiger airlines cancelling is pretty high
Hi Guys,
I've just called tigerair and they have confirmed that if I miss the outbound flight my return leg is NOT cancelled.
Looks like most of the low cost carriers (Jetstar and AirAsia mentioned above) class their flights as seperate one way tickets even if sold as a return,
Cheers
Cecil
