I ordered some stuff from amazon with global priority shipping and the tracking site says it'll arrive at 8pm. I thought deliveryman don't work after 5pm unless amazon is wrong at estimating delivery

Yep, they usually early relative to their own ETA. Gotta love Amazon.
Not sure what happens to others but all my Amazon deliveries are Authority To Leave deliveries.
Do they actually do night time delivery? cause Australia Post/Star Track sure don't although I don't know which courier Amazon uses for global priority
Did they not give you info on who was doing the delivery, and their info?
You can usually dig down from the order page and find the info to put into the local tracking service.
I think what they mean is 'by' 8pm rather than 'at'.
I've found that the regular speed Amazon deliveries are done either by i-Parcel with Fastway as the local courier or something called 'Aussiepost' where Auspost delivers locally.
My experience is from Sydney
Its most likely arrive by a certain time/date, sometimes a few days or a week before the date which is really good compared to them chinese online stores like gearbest, aliexpress, banggood.
Amazon has one of the best (in my experience) tracking systems and you know where your package is and when its arriving. I get notifications via the Amazon App. Also, there was one time I didn't get my item (probably due to customs - it was a headlamp). Anyway Amazon reimbursed me without me needing to do anything as they tracked that it wasn't delivered to me for well over 30 days. Great service! Can't wait for them to come here in Australia.
Amazon times aren't accurate for AU. Usually turns up prior to their estimation anyway, by a week.
