Don't know much about the keyboard but it looks pretty solid.

Cherry MX, so not cheap shit. Doesn't say what colour switches though.

  • That is a lot to spend on a brand I've never heard of before.

  • Nice looking keyboard. Plenty of reviews if you Google the brand/model. Seems like a solid 4/5 stars which isn't too bad at all.

From the second result of a google search:

The local distributors for the Ozone Strike Pro, however, told us that “all Strike Pro retail keyboards in Australia” will be Cherry MX Red switches

No RGB, not a true gamer's keyboard!

He didn't say anything about buying it and he's doing people a service just by posting a deal… :/

  • 64kb memory!! That's a lot of passwords it can leak!

Lifehacker review says it's a Cherry MX Red. https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2016/07/ozone-strike-pro-keybo…

  • Is it cherry MX or Brown?

"If you like Cherry MX Brown keyboards and want something that will be good for working and gaming, the Ozone Strike Pro isn't exactly a bad investment. But there are definitely comparable keyboards out there that cost a bit less.

I'm in the market for a new keyboard, never had a mechanical one before, would this be a good first one to try?

Looks like a solid keyboard but over priced for $289. How much would another similar model cost? http://www.pcworld.com/article/2110100/ozone-strike-pro-revi…

Get a Ducky from PCCaseGear if you want something with less gamer bling (and probably better quality keycaps). Might cost a little more with shipping but you'll have a choice of switches. As others said, this is MX Red, which is good, but not tactile at all. Brown is a good middle ground. This seems decent enough for the price, though.

$30 more can get you a very reliable CM Masterkeys [S] MX Brown.

This is my current keyboard, although I have the MX Blue version.
It has everything from RGB lighting to a solid durable build & finish.
I suggest going to check out which switch is best for you first.

Cheers guys, how do you decide which switch is best?

          Comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps5DEeSBl5s

          Roughly:

          Red: Gamers, light
          Brown: Tactile, good for games/typing.
          Blue: Clicky, tactile

I'm typing this on a Red and can type really fast on it, so all can be used for anything, really (though Blue is not generally suggested for games that require fast keypresses…). Blue is too loud and clicky for me, but some people swear by them. As I said above Brown is a solid, popular all rounder. Only way to really know is try it yourself/take a punt as it's ultimately personal preference.

        • I think you can get a sample key set from places like eBay,

  • Guys, along with good switches, invest in a good set of keys as well. The PBT keys are awesome, doubleshot. They are so nice to type on and while switches are great, the keys are what you actually feel when you type.

  • They come in either black, red, blue or brown Cherry MX switches so I would imagine EBGames stock all of these, just depends what ones are in stock and make sure to check before purchasing.

  • A bit off topic but anyone got suggestions for a Mech Keyboard on the cheaper end - I don't need (or necessarily want) any fancy lights, just something basic but with Cherry MX switches.

My $2 MSY A4Tech keyboard is slowly dying and considering how much time I'm spending at the computer I'd like to upgrade to something nicer.

  • Took a punt. Thanks
