Is this all Woolies or….? Where did you buy it from?

Edit: I don't know where OP got theirs but my local in north Brisbane has a few scanning for $10 so it might be QLD-wide or nation-wide.

  • Wow, just checked that normally these sell for 99$, and telstra are now sellig it for 69$

    • I think it's different compared to Telstra one. This one is 910V and Telstra 910. CMIIIW

      • +1

yeah ….. the confusion about wrong labelling and model numbers seems to be rife especially at office works. one of these had leds and is often $30 from optus, the better model has lcd display and costs more ……

office works have the 910v label and pricing on the stand with the display model for the telstra 4gx pro ….. confuses the staff when you tell them the modem on display doesn't match the tag or price until you ask them to unwrap one and it doesn't match the display model.

        • The original 910 without the V had an LCD display. Both that model and the newer 910v without a display share imo the same innards as both are manufactured by ZTE China as opposed to Huawei.

    • +7

telstra are now sellig it for 69$

      Kinky.

      • +1

telstra and optus both seem to be streamlining their ranges of modems , might be because you get so much data on phone plans people tether and it's too much hassle to chase activating sims, and the newer models do band aggregation.

handy when your adsl is dead or school holidays so the kids can run down a sim, but now my son has dual sim phone he just hammers the data sim slot until the sim runs out.

used an optus data sim …..50gb for $70 while waited for adsl install…. and it had no metering on netflix and iview streaming …… 3 weeks later still 25gb left and the kids have been in front of the tv ….
yes the 50gb had unmetered …… said no unmetered tethering BUT it didn't meter if tethered and accessed via the apps not browser.
though optus has removed the unmetered netflix from the 12gb phone plans and just left music…… not nice optus……

        • This Optus plan you mentioned is actually pretty amazing. After waiting so long for the NBN to come and all that installation jazz etc, it's pretty amazing to think, all I would need was a 4G modem and I would have unlimited Netflix and 50Gb.

At the moment I am with Internode, with the plan which they no longer provide. I pay $50/month and I have 50Gb + unlimited Netflix.
For extra 20 bucks, Optus would give me, the same + unlimited Spotify and all and I also be able to take it wherever I want. I could take it to gym and listen to unlimited Spotify rather than paying $17/month to be able to download songs.

On top of all that, I bet the speed would be either comparable or even better than my 12 down/ 2 up NBN plan.

Am I missing something here? Either NBN is so overpriced and slow or this Optus plan is temporarily generous to attract customers.

        • Unmetered Netflix is still on the 12gb plan. I am on it and signed up my partner to a 1gb optus plan and we both have unmetered Netflix

I stand corrected. I just checked their webstie and you are correct. I guess i re-signed and added a new number at the right time! my partner is paying $35/m for the Samsung A5 and 1gb data which is pooled with my $94/m SGS8 10gb plan and we both get unmetered spotify and netflix.

Nothing at Sydney town hall … I walked past this evening, before this was posted.

  • +2

Got one just now. Expiry on mine is Nov 2018.

  • Where are these located in the shop? Either I'm blind or my woolworths has no shelves to display them. Are they located in the cigarette area?

    • +1

Every Woolworths i've been to have the mobile phones in the cigarette area. Granted this is Woolworths in Queensland but should be the same layout nation wide.

      • I see, thanks for that! I usually shop at Coles where the devices are in the aisles on the shelves.

        • +4

Never been to a Coles where this happens. Always at the customer service desk under glass or behind. Same as WW.

        • The Coles around here have the mobile phones and modems also at the cigarette area also known as the customer service desk. Your Coles must be non standard in that regard.

I purchased 2 in WWS West ryde, nsw. Now only 6 left in that store! Hurry up! They do not display this modem. So you need to ask. One male staff is very nice and help me find it. Lumia 532 is sold out at this store.

    • +8

Bought last Lumia 532 in Woolworths Gordon, can confirm its existence.

I can't explain why I spent the past few hours searching for a $10 Lumia 532 that I have no use for.

What is life, what is meaning?

Mount Waverley, Burwood East and Glen Waverley in VIC are all out.

    • +1

staff members might not know what you're talking about. I had to ask and the manager came and looked for it for me.

  • +1

Please Ignore my ignorance, but what is this use for? mobile broadband??

    • Yes señor.

Not a bad way to have 3GB of relatively high speed uploads to backup photos or stuff to the cloud. ADSL connection would be an overnight job
