Fantastic value for money, but not a bargain as it's RRP….

    • You're right. Just hoping no one has paid $699 RRP

    +1 for first deal.

But I'd take the HTC 10 over the Axon 7 at the same price. Having said that, the ZTE has a bigger screen and dual front facing speakers which some people may prefer! Oh and the Axon 7 has 64GB vs 32GB on the HTC 10.

    • Purely just curious, why the HTC 10? The Axon 7 has a better camera and battery. I guess the HTC 10 has a better performance score. HTC more reliable?

I'm not sure if the Axon 7 has a better camera. And while it's not great, I reckon the HTC has a better battery (Axon 7: 3250mAh, HTC 10: 3000mAh but the Axon has a bigger screen).

If you look at reviews of the HTC, a lot of reviewers have said that it's an extremely underrated phone. It wasn't advertised enough and so didn't sell much but it is a very capable phone.

That's not to say that the Axon 7 isn't capable. The Axon 7 has also received good reviews.

When I look at it, HTC has produced good phones for the last few years so that's my reason for siding with it.

      • The Axon 7 has better camera than the 10? Are you serious?

        • haha all I got is 20 MP vs 12 MP. Excuse my ignorance, obviously there are other aspects that make the camera. Would you like to elaborate?

@renque: If you spend just a few minutes Googling, you'll find that the Axon's camera is probably it's weakest point. It's decent in good lighting, but terrible in low light. The 10's camera is an excellent all-rounder, particularly good in low light. Megapixel count means very little.

Yeah definitely got the camera bit wrong. 10 is much better in this regard.

the grey import versions are alot cheaper but its a deal for brick mortar store

  • -1

That's a good price for Aus brick and mortar stock of something vaguely comparable with a galaxy s7 in performance

  • Good phone if you into music (but also consider LG V20). $599 for flagship is not to bad.

    • Yup if you want a phone with a great screen and audio, the Axon 7 is a good investment - if you need a half decent camera, avoid the Axon 7. The software of the Axon 7 can be buggy at times too. Depending on the update. ZTE are getting there as a company, but they need to just adopt vanilla android or perhaps license Oxygen from Oneplus or something.

  • i paid 36000円 from aliexpress for the A2017 version (im using it in Japan). I followed an XDA thread and after 5-6 hours I managed to unlocked it, put Resurrection Remix, and after a few more hours, got the audio-mods up and running. its now the A2017U version, not sure if that will affect the bands, as i did have to run some modem zips in TWRP, and after that it became the U version. bricked it a few times from experimenting with other ROMs and supersu, but fixed that by re-flashing TWRP. RR is my preferred, due to the customisations. excellent upgrade from my sony xperia z3 compact, love the screen, audio, 3.5mm jack, and mod-ability. XDA forums are thriving for this phone currently. i cant comment on the camera.

    • i got this xperia z3 and wanting to upgrade. oneplus 3t is on my list. but i love the wide-angle on lg v20 but the battery life on that phone is crap. dont know what to do

      • perhaps wait until snapdragon 835 is a bit more common. batteries are batteries. buy a phone based on how you use it, not how you want to use it

  • Is this model the one with AK4490 hi-fi audio DAC?

Anyone running Lineage OS on this phone? Hows the overall experience? How does the camera compared with galaxy s7's? Thanks
