  • This looks like a pretty basic AV receiver - has anyone purchased one? Any good?

    • Doesn't seem to support HD Audio (DTS-HD / Master Audio)

      • Most Blu-ray players can be set to decode the HD audio formats to multi-channel PCM which the receiver does support.

  • I don't think the 25% cashback applies to normal HN items, otherwise I think there might be a deal on Ozbargain that breaks the counter.

    • Sorry mate - wasn't aware of that

      • No stress, it's not very obvious.

    • Yep - that expired

        • think the point was … 2 years ago it was on sale for $199 … and now it's $69 more … or … 34.6% more than 2 years ago… and it's a bargain … right!? ;)

          Thanks @mikeyeggwhites

HTR-2067 is cut down from even the RX-V377, which is about as low as you can go.

It was being offered here at $199, in 2015 - so 2 years later and a third more expensive. the X83 series is due out soon, that's how far out of date it is.

I guess kind of typical of Harvey to try and pass off obsolete stock as a bargain.

He was flogging off replica NSW State of Origin clothing from a few years ago, the other day.
He's a massive flogger from way back, old Gerry.

  • As a processor it's not of much value but if you're looking for a 2ch amp it might be OK. I can't really speak for Yamaha products in this range but that's probably the only real use for it outside of a cinema room for kids where the quality is less of a concern.

    • It will be infinitely better than a non-dedicated system, or a cheap player+5.1 setup.

Free Pickup, what a time to be alive…

    • Just don't tell them you're a professional, they might try & charge you.

  • Technically it's a 5.1.1 amplifier, with amplified subwoofer channel.

    • Huh???

      • 5.1 channel amps typcically have 5 speaker outputs (Front L+R, centre, rear L+R), and only a pre-out for an amplified subwoofer. This amp has a 6th amplified channel to run a passive subwoofer.

        • Thanks, didn't see the specs showing it. Never seen one of those before. Some suggest it's to pair up some type of Yamaha speakers that may require it. Seems very odd though. Ironically could use it actually as I have a formerly active sub lying around missing it's amp…

Very strange on an entry level though.
