Dishwasher Spare Parts - Where to Buy?

So I have a Westinghouse dishwasher where the upper spray arm keeps falling off every wash.

Been looking to buy a new arm and the piece that it connects too but only seem to come across online places that want like 60 bucks for just the arm. Seems excessive for a piece of plastic.

Does anyone know where the best place to buy these spare parts from? Or anywhere on Brisbane South/West that would stock parts at a reasonable price.

Other option is just a whole new dishwasher, but not real keen to do that!

  • Try ABC electrical in Browns plains, they carry heaps of spares.

MacGyver it, surely it can be done. Drill a small hole and bend/tie a paperclip thru it?

  • This is going to sound crazy, but try contacting Westinghouse Spare Parts. We smashed our glass cooktop and the cheapest replacement glass was directly from Westinghouse.
It also appears they have an online store.

  • Doug Smith Spares.
    Very knowledgeable.
Make sure you have all the details of the dishwasher - model, serial number, manufacture date, etc. - before you contact them.

    • yeah these guys

  • I got a part for my Westinghouse fridge from these guys https://shop.onlineappliancespares.com.au/

  • There are some terrific sandable epoxies you might try, or glue a piece of plastic and sand it back into shape.

    • would they last going through a dishwashing cycle every day though?

  • I'll second jasonlv87 suggestion - call Westinghouse and ask for the part number, then order it from their website https://shop.westinghouse.com.au/
Shipping is a bit expensive, but currently they have 10% discount with code MAY10

  • Have a look on ebay - you might be able to import the part from China. I've bought things like dishwasher tray wheels and hob knobs for a <$1 (inc shipping), compared to $20+ locally.

How old is the dishwasher? If you don't mind a 2nd hard part, I would phone up some repairers to see if they have a compatible spare lying around. Also check with a few appliance stores to see what they do with 2nd hand appliances that are removed from customers purchasing new appliances.

Unfortunately, repairing appliances is very uneconomical these days … imagine if you had to pay for labour + callout fee on top of the part … you might as well buy a new dishwasher.

  • It really is ridiculous how uneconomic it is to replace these parts - I want to replace the two plastic clamps that the arm connect to…….55 bucks!

Might have to do the rounds on the weekend and see if any places just have them lying around they can give me.
