E570 was previously on sale last month. V520s is a new corporate desktop product which should probably have Windows 10 Pro included as I don't see home users getting one of those.

  • Thanks Scotty.

    Any deals coupons for monitors?

  • it is E570 i7/16GB RAM/256GB SSD $997? or $977?

    • +1

      Sorry it's $977. Title fixed.

Damn, nice deal. Pity I went Dell a few weeks ago. Maybe next year.

Maybe we need some sort of knowledge base which documents these patterns. Something like "Lenovo tend to do 40% EOFY in May"

  • What do you reckon this computer would be like for heavily editing photos? Lightroom and PS. I know that the colours are off in the screen, do you think this could be fixed by something like a Spyder?

  • V520 has win home.

    CRAZY

  • just purchased! MANY THANKS scotty

My last Lenovo E series worked well for three years! It is time to get SSD

  • Does this stack with cashrewards?

    • Usually yes. But as it says on https://www.cashrewards.com.au/lenovo "Purchases made with coupon codes not advertised on Cashrewards may result in cashback not being paid."

It's also only 5% cash back now. Used to be 10% along time ago and 7% until recently.

      • Awesome, thanks.

    • +2

I DO receive an email from CR said that i am eligible for $44 rewards

  • Such a shame the desktop can't be customised.

    • -2

Friend, you could always do aftermarket add ons like installing another ram dimm. However you could build this computer for the same price, and then pay a little more for a better gpu and whatnot. In my opinion probably change the cpu to a ryzen one since the only intel one worth getting right now is the pentium g4560. You'd get better quality components too.

      • You should have a look at how much Ryzen costs at MSY before you make a comment like that. Not only will you most likely stuff something up buying and assembling everything together but your "quality components" will probably become the cheapest chipset you can buy. Just a Ryzen 7 CPU by itself will set you back almost half the cost of this entire PC ($892 after cashrewards)

        • Friend, buuilding a computer is easy. The chance of screwing something up is minimal, building them is so incredibly easy as clicking 7 components together. A ryzen 5 1600 has nearly identical performance to the i7 7770 and better multithreaded performance. This wasnt for a direct comparison either since the guy was talking about customisation.

  • Great deal! Still waiting for the e470 deal to come back :(

I recently bought an X1, did everything recommended to track Cash Rewards as recommended. The Cash Back tracked at over $180, when the time came for Lenovo to pay up, they rejected the Cash Back, claiming I clicked through via OzBargain, even though I clearly clicked through via Cash Rewards as that's the only way it could have tracked.

So beware that they might not honour the Cash Back if you try to claim it.

    • +1

If you were signed out of your OzBargain account and clicked on the deal that would be the culprit.

    • +11

Doesn't seem a relevant reason to neg this particular deal.

    • If the cashback tracked and you were not paid, then you have been robbed

      • His comment literally said what had happened. OzBargain serves affiliate links to people who are not signed in and if the cashback has gone to OzBargain then clearly he clicked through OzBargain before Cashrewards.

        • Agreed. However I'm not sure how cashrewards tracked the purchase if it was made by clicking via ozbargain

        • +1

@trev likes bargains: Depends how Lenovo's affiliate network does tracking. It could be session based and their affiliate network logged both sessions but OzBargain was the first and got the commission first.

        • @Clear: I remember the last click gets the commission, isn't it?

        • @Neoika: Depends on the affiliate network they're using. There are a lot out there and many have different methods of tracking. It's very possible that Smol Cat clicked through OzBargain after CR.

Now you can cancel the gym membership.

      • i know right, when my work lenovo x1 carbon is only 1-1.1kg

  • No Thunderbolt 3 on the E570 right? After an ultrabook with Thunderbolt 3 so I can output to two monitors at 4k @60hz

    • T470 can do it

      • Waiting for a deal on T470 or T470s

  • Do any of the Lenovo laptops have a thin screen bezel? The 15.6 bezel looks pretty thick.

  • It is a good laptop, but man that is ugly

  • I am looking at replacing my workstation W510, is E570 worthy replacement of a workstation or is more for a average users?

    • Both the CPU and GPU on the E570 will perform much better than your current W510. A workstation is what you make of it I guess. Although bearing in mind your old laptop has a Quadro GPU, which is more workstation orientated. (In saying that, it is still much slower)

      • Thanks

      • The I7 in the E570 is only a dual core of the M variety, so at workstation jobs the older machine would come out on top. Sucks that intel split the laptop range yet again when the Core M went all dual core. You might want to check up on the GPU too, if you are into productivity apps that make use of it.

    • +3

The E570p would be a better work station replacement I think, with quadcore CPU and better GPU. Also weights more just like the workstation :) See our previous E570p deals.

      • +1

Hmm… To buy this or to wait for another E570p deal…

        • +1

Exactly my thought … I suppose there would be more deals as beloved Tax time is upon us. May be Dell series…

        • @sagarkale: I decided to just go with the E570, given I don't really need quad core for what I run…

    • +1

A train station is where a train stops, a bus station is where a bus stops. What happens at your "work station"?

      • +3

        you stop working.

  • Can't see it mentioned at the site, but is there any room in the e570 for a second hard drive?

    • +1

It has an M.2 and SATA 2.5" bay.

      • Ah… thanks… I assumed the SSD would just be a 2.5… but seems not and there is likely a free 2.5 bay. Nice.

        • +1

          The SSD is M.2.
There is a fake plastic HDD in the 2.5" bay which you can remove to fit an additional drive. I put a 1TB WD Black 2.5" in mine :)

Anyone know why Lenovo isn't selling the Yoga 720 in Australia? It looks perfect to me.

    • +1

I agree, I'd love to see the Yoga 720 on the Lenovo website too. Weirdly you can get it from JB though: clicky

      • Yes, and it was $300 off until yesterday…but I was too slow to make my move. :-(

  • +1

PSA to everyone, the i7-7500U is a dual core

    • u reckon, there is huge performance difference with quad core?

      • +3

        Literally half.

Thing is though, majority of the time, you can't tell the difference. It's for dedicated tasks. In gaming, your gpu will more likely be the problem than a dual core.

        • +1

          This man is correct.

I tend to run multiple things in the background, sometimes two games and some other things, so I end up noticing the lag.

Generally speaking, you'll notice if you start hitting near 100% CPU load

  • does e570 has precision trackpad?

  • +1

I would wait for i7 Quad core deal with 4GB Graphic card.

    • This is what i am waiting for.

  • I've been comparing to other notebooks all day, and it's such a great price. My last Lenovo was a budget one from Big W that I bought 7 years ago, and it's still running strong. Thanks Scotty!

  • Waiting for a 32GB 1TB one which has a precision trackpad.

  • Thanks Scotty. Ordered.

  • LENOVO15 worked for ThinkPad E570p if anyone is interested. Price Before: $1,899.00 Price After: $1,614.15 for 16GB/+1TB option.

  • Thanks scotty, grabbed an E570 :)

  • +2

This deal is marked expired but it's actually still active, at least on the E570! It should really be updated.
Just purchased the E570 using the same code and price. Cheers ;)
