Easy to care non stink rug with baby/dog!

Dearest bargainers,

My rug stinks, no matter how much I steam clean, wet clean, vacuum my rugs always get stinky after a few weeks. Having a baby rolling around puking and then a dog all over it, it smells horrible.

I need a solution for an easy to clean rug solution that doesn't get so stinky. Shall I be going for full man made synthetic horribleness?

Sorry to be graphic but you're my only hope.

Air outside in sun. Kills a lot of the smells.
I muffle farts in pillows and dooners all the time. No issues 👌

faster approach is to roll up the rug. put it in a black garbage bag which you then place in a larger clear plastic plastic bag which you leave in open sun - greenhouse superheating. kills all bacteria.

  • No rug is great. Get yourself a childrens play mat. I have the one that is like a latex material. It is very easy to clean, and doesn't smell.

  • My tighter weave sisals are regularly tortured but come up clean easily. I have decided that if I ever recarpet it will be sisal. Not cheap but great performing.

  • vinegar is great at killing bacteria and removing odors. Get some home brand white vinegar + a spray bottle, it dirt cheap, maybe let it soak a bit then steam clean it?

  • Keep the dog off the rug.
Place the baby on something other than the rug.

  • Get yourself a washable rug/blanket then use the Napisan/Vanish wash stuff to clean it. We use our indoor airers and/or the balistrade to dry the rugs on in Winter. The mink blankets wash easily and dry quickly.
