Any recommendations for buying good value chicken thighs for my new charcoal spit? I have been told to buy with skin on in order to keep the chicken moist. Preferably near Doncaster.

Yeah, that's the one. Agree with teardrops21 below. Fair better of visiting a local butcher.
Try a good local butcher, it's important not to get chicken that has been pumped up with water! Makes such a difference to the cooking process and since we have changed from supermarket to local butcher our chicken is always much more tender and tastes better. Best thing is it only costs a tiny but more than supermarket and we aren't paying for water, and they will prepare it as you like.
