PayPal Overseas to Australia as Gift

Anyone tell me how i figure out how much i be to transfer money from overseas to australia through paypal as gift or friends.
Im sure in past there was no fees to send this way but i believe there is of not within same country.
This is really from my overseas account to here.
I know there might be better and cheaper options but i was looking at a one off and quick opion but not if paypal rips me off big time.
I would like to compare it to xe.com but i know i get nowhere near that.
But i have found sometimes when you send funds to someone it says you get xx amount but receiver get less as fee taken off.
So if there no free fee option anymore.

    This is really from my overseas account to here.

    crossborder transaction fees has been in place for a long time now. there is no way around it.

      I know there was crossborder fees always is but was there not a fee free option in past? As im sure you could send to family etc with no extra fees.

    I recall reading something about transferwise being good. Never looked further into it or used them myself.

      Yes they are great and i just may use them but i might have wanted paypal for instant short notice payment.

    Fee is 1% intercountry, 0% for the same country. This doesn't account for any changes in currency, which they'll make $ off
