(Wii U) Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze $27, "Selects" Range $30-$31 (Mario3D World, Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, Wind Waker) @OzGameShop

610

If you haven't upgraded to the Switch yet there's some good prices on some of the more popular Wii U titles. Not specifically a part of the current ozgameshop sale, but quite good prices since I believe all RRP at $49.95.

Some of the cheap titles:

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze $26.99
Super Mario 3D World $29.99
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker $29.99
Pikmin 3 $29.99
Lego City undercover $24.99
Nintendo Land $22.99
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD $30.99
New Super Mario Bros U + Luigi U $33.99

Shipping is $1.99 unless you spend over $30, and use the free shipping code " SHIPME " (I have not tested this, but can confirm that shipping is also free if you spend over $50)

"Selects" Range $30-$31 (Mario3D World, Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, Wind Waker)

These ones are normal price, they're not reduced.

      No one told EB that.

Pretty sure they know, but are banking on many of their customers not knowing about OzGameShop…

    • The RRP for these titles in Australia is at least $49.95. That's a considerable saving over most retailers, regardless of whether they have been recently reduced by OzGameshop.

The normal prices for these titles from OzGameShop is around $30.

They haven't been reduced. Been that price for many, many months now. Got a couple before Xmas and the prices were the same.

        • You're saving at least $20 by shopping at Ozgameshop. The OP stated "Not specifically a part of the current ozgameshop sale, but quite good prices". You seem to be simply repeating what he already stated.

Nope, the prices are the same as last year when I was shopping at Ozgameshop.

sorry, I searched on ozb for a few of them and didn't find any deals available - so I gracefully plonked it on the end of the title there as an FYI to all (I had only been just enlightened to ozgameshop)

      • (I had only been just enlightened to ozgameshop)

They often have 10% off codes too, so you can buy these cheaper…

        • I think they have a new policy where pre-ordered games are already 10% off + use the player points from previous purchases to get a bigger discount.

Either that or the games I'm looking at are too cheap then… Utawarerumono and fire emblem echoes are like $52ea plus a further discount depending on your player points to around $45aud each.

The cheapest I've found for them on Google were $59+5 shipping from mightyape and ozgameshop isn't even listed :x

Quite good prices, base.com have some titles that are a little bit cheaper but not sure how much shipping is and if you pay a fee for a foreign currency transaction on your card it may be a wash or work out more at Base.

Nintendoland is only $19.95 new at EB: https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-157826-Nintendo-Land-Wii-U

Shame I've got them all, all great games. The Wii U is a sorely overlooked console, I'm glad some of its titles are coming to the Switch so they can be enjoyed by a wider audience.

    • -2

Yeah I wouldn't pay that for Nintendoland, you should be able to find a second hand one at EB or CEX for closer to ten bucks.

you should be able to find a second hand one at EB or CEX for closer to ten bucks.

The EB games stores I've been to recently have all Wii U games pretty much FULL original price and the second hand ones maybe 10-20% cheaper. They are a rip off.

  • +5

Yep they've been this price for a while, but probably still counts as a bargain since they're cheaper than anywhere else (even 2nd hand ones on ebay) in some cases.

    Also many people don't know:

    1. That the best Wii U exclusive titles are amazing (since not many gamers own a Wii U). In particular: Super Mario 3D World is probably the best family couch co-op game of all time. My kids have all the Lego games and Rayman Legends and Mario Kart, but 3D World is on another level.

    2. MOD: Removed. Discussions regarding Pirated Software.

    • -2

Mod can you restore the bit about Cemu?

If you want to insist that this comment really needed to be edited for mentioning piracy, you only needed to delete the part where I mentioned that I didn't pirate, not delete the whole bit about the emulator.

Base.com prices (inc shipping and using Base.com as the supplier, not BaseCH)

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze $31.60
    Super Mario 3D World $27.80
    Captain Toad Treasure Tracker $27.80
    Pikmin 3 $27.80
    Lego City Undercover $27.80
    Nintendo Land $N/A
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD $29.25
    New Super Mario Bros U + Luigi U $28.10

  • +1 Very good prices for first party nintendo games!

Definitely recommend Donkey Kong and Super Mario 3D World, well worth the price!

  • +2

lol someone discovered OZG and decided their prices were a deal? ok cool… moving on…

    • Yeah I agree. We shouldn't be wasting our space on cheap games, especially in comparison to local retail stock.

Otherwise I might missout on paying RRP + shipping for the NES mini

  • Just FYI for collectors - these are all EUR region games, but not Australian releases. Won't make a difference at all for playing them, but Australian releases tend to appreciate more than their EUR (UK etc.) counterparts.

    • If anything I find the Australian versions ugly when they print that hideous rating over the cover art

      • +1

Finally, someone who feels me 😂

    • Will the EUR versions run on a Japanese Gamecube?

      • Hi mate

  • -3

can be found cheaper at eb games and ebay.

    • I scoured ebay (for donkey kong at least) with no such luck, eb games says $49.95 - unsure about the others

    • +1

      lol?

  • Cheers lads, Ripper Deals, jolly good. Tip top games, the Nintendoland is quite underrated. Super Mario wii U is a fantastic platformer.

Heard Microsoft is possibly making an Amiibo type thing for Xbox, sounds interesting if true.

  • -2

The Wii U is easily hacked these days. Inb4 hundreds of downvotes.

  • Wouldn't mind pickup the console itself to gadget around with. Any signs of cheap deals on the hardware?

    • +1

Only ebay unfortunately, you could possibly save a bit by looking for the original 8gb version. There was a recent xmas console bundle that came with a game or two, maybe kmart or big w will have a clearance sometime soon with the leftover stock now that the switch is out?
(I may be talking out of my ass)

      • Thanks for the tip!

      • In Vic, no more WiiU consoles! They won't be found cheap.

    • I have a decent priced one going if you are interested. The reason they've held their value is that they sold poorly and it never really dropped in price retail wise add that the tablet controller can be a bit fragile and the system is useless without it.

  • I'm considering getting the steam box to play these games. They are truly a bargain. Any cheap sites where i could find the hardware?

    • +2

Steam Box to play Wii U games??

      • +1

Yeah man… will use an emulator

    • +1

im playing mario 3d, captain toad and zelda at 4k downscaled to 1080 on my monitor, plays very nicely, make sure your steam box has at least 16gb ram because cemu is very ram heavy.

      • Yeah i heard cemu was pretty solid for playing Wii U games. I can't decide whether to get the steam box or just play on my old PC.

  • +1

Hooray. I wanted a copy of New Super Mario Bros U + Luigi U. I had a $5 voucher from a NES Mini preorder.

  • Would ebgames price match?

    • Most likely not :(
