How to know if this guy is selling genuine or fake/refurb phone?

      You think Gumtree is full of scammers, yet you continue to purchase from there? I bet you're the type of person who ventures into a dangerous neigbourhood and then complains that they're assaulted.

  the redmi 3 says as new so maybe refurbished but the Redmi 4 says brand new. I'd ask to make sure

  well, the easiest way to tell is to meet up and then inspect the phone.

  you can check the IMEI online as well. http://www.imei.info/ and it tells you the make, model and other bits
