128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC Class10 for $99 @ JB Hi-Fi

36

Bought a 128 GB microSDXC card for $99 from JB HI Fi. This is a class 10.
It's marked in the store at $157. However, it's advertised online for $99 and they honoured that price at the checkout.

Obviously you can buy these cheaper on eBay but I strongly encourage you not to do so. I've bought about 3 and each one has failed. Completely useless. Spend the extra couple of bucks and buy it retail.
Office Works also said they can price match this but unfortunately, they only stock up to 64 GB.

      $73.. take 20% off = $58

Still more expensive than Shopping Express stuff on sale for under $50

I had one good experience with Shopping Express… now I'm more in the camp of people who do not buy from them. Too many delays/bad experiences. A quick search of OzBargain will yield similar.

Are you thinking of shopping square? From what I've seen and my experiences shopping express is usually pretty good.
btw futu online is shopping express

        • @based: Shopping Square is horrible, I got a fake Samsung sd card from them.

        • @based: Argh. You're right - I'm thinking of Shopping Square. My mistake…. such similar names so confusing.

        • @zhuntai:

I concur shopping square is horrible

        • @Sortale:

Really? I've bought a few of my Samsung evo.64 gb from them and never noticed anythung wrong with them?

    • Thanks. Bought one from Futu.

Sorry mate. Know it is your first post but the majority of the Class 10 128GB have been going for under 50 bucks in most "bargain" posts.
    $99 gets you a 200GB Sandisk.

    • Thanks for being nice about it. The thing is, I've bought heaps of cheap ones from less reliable places and they all turn out to be duds within a couple of days or weeks. This ones been solid so far.
I have seen some of the other members post links from places like cpl etc which are great. I guess I needed it in a hurry and thought it was a good deal.

Just remember - if you ever in need of a part, peripheral or memory like this, there is always MSY pretty much all around the place now. They might not be the cheapest cheapest, but you can bet they are not far off.

      • Purchased heaps of SD cards,32,64 and 128 GB,mainly from Futu via eBay.
Only had one failure,a 16 GB Toshiba. DOA.
Never paid over $60 for Samsung 128 GB.
Have four Xduoo FLAC players and a Dell laptop to support.

$69 at MSY.. JB are ludicrious with their SD pricing.

  • while this post definitely is not a bargain, i'm currently looking for a 200gb micro sd card. can someone please point me to one on sale at the moment? thanks in advance

  • $99 is not a bargain, but since this is your first post, I'm gonna let it slides.

  • Cheaper elsewhere. No deal.

"Obviously you can buy these cheaper on eBay but I strongly encourage you not to do so. I've bought about 3 and each one has failed."
If these were SanDisk cards and they failed, they have 10 year warranty. I've had 2 replaced by SanDisk (write protection errors) no problem. Good customer service.

Then buy from a reputable dealer next time. PCByte sell 100% genuine cards at almost half this price (when eBay have a 20% off sale)

      • -2

Don't know why i got negged TWICE for my comment???
My Sandisk cards that failed were bought from Shopping Express. They are a great shop IMO….If you think they aren't a reputable dealer, you are entitled to your own opinion.
I simply quoted the OP's line that they had SD cards fail in the past….
I was pointing out that Sandisk cards have a warranty, and Sandisk honoured that warranty. Ive got no problem with Shopping Express. Bought lots of great stuff from them over the years.

Yeah this is not a deal whatsoever. PCByte, bought same card from them for $50~ and it's 100% genuine.

Msy and other computer stores have this for less. You should try and get a refund or price match it

  • +1

Definitely cheaper elsewhere. If OP worried about DOA buying online, I would suggest price match at JB or price beat at Officeworks with MSY for example.

  • OP I concur. Msy i saw is doing the 200 gb version for 119 bucks… So yeah def worth checking them out.

The only bummer is their stores aren't open on a sunday and i just missed cutoff today. Im thinking of ordering online delivery as an alternative. Is the handling processing fee of $2 smth the actual delivery, or do they slug you later in the checkout for it? Otherwise ill survive till picking it up next week haha.

On another note can you return faulty msy deliveries instore or are they separated?
