[PC] Humble Bundle Monthly: Stellaris $12 USD (~$16 AUD)

180

Every month Humble Bundle offer a bunch of games for $12 USD (or less if you subscribe for long periods) and this months main game is Stellaris.

"Stellaris is a 4X grand strategy video game developed and published by Paradox Interactive. Stellaris's gameplay revolves around space exploration, managing an empire, and diplomacy and warfare with other spacefaring civilizations."

If you buy this you are subscribed, if you only want this bundle, cancel the bundle immediately after purchasing and you get Stellaris immediately and the other games at the end of this month. The other games that come with are apparently awesome sometimes too.

**-Edit- I doubt any will read this, but there are also mods for this game including Star Trek and Star Wars that make the base game completely different and awesome.

The DLC is on sale at Humble Bundle store**

"The other games usually aren't that good."

I disagree with that. I find the secondary games in the Humble Monthly to be very good; generally better than their other bundles. May's bundle had Undertale and Inside, which are 92% and 87% on metacritic, and April's bundle had Black Mesa (86%) and Kingdom: New Lands (87%).

I'll probably buy June's bundle even though I already own Stellaris. On that note: anyone want to buy the Stellaris key from me?

    • Yes plz! Msg'd you.

I can't help but think humble bundle concept used to be better and cheaper.

They still have 'Humble Bundle' which works how you remember with a low entry point and other tiers but they now also have other ways to group and sell.
      Humble Bundle Android
      Humble Bundle Books / Comics
      Humble Bundle Staff Picks
      Humble Bundle Publisher
      Humble Store
      and Humble Bundle Monthly

Each working a little differently (pricing / distribution). I can see how it is a little confusing but I can also see how it is better for publishers getting better price for better games which I'm all for, value for money but no one should be ripped off on either end.

I've picked up 3 of the last 4 HB Monthly and some how haven't managed to get a double up yet - and I have bought basically ever Humble Bundle since inception … plus a massive steam library so I'm kind of shocked at how that has worked out for me so far.

      • Thanks for clarifying. It's a pretty slick operation and I love how well presented and organised everything is. They definitely have their shtick together, whoever is behind the operation of the HB. It's just a shame that every $US1 is costing us about $1.40 AUS which takes away some of the cost savings. You sound pretty devoted to the cause, or maybe you just really love games ;)

    • My personal opinion is that games that would've originally gone into normal Humble Bundles have gone into the monthly ones to make more people subscribe to it. Which makes me believe that most normal Humble Bundles are usually not as amazing as they used to be.

      • Quite possibly true, but that is still an awesome deal when compared to RRP.

        • Oh no doubt, despite my opinions they're still usually great value especially compared to RRP, and typically go to a greater cause.

Soooo tired today. Bought this the day before, finally fired up last night with the intention of checking it out for an hour… first time I looked at the time it was 2:30am!!!

    • I had a similar experience when I first got it. It's definitely got that Civilization feel where you just constantly want to keep going for 'just a little bit longer'.
