Velocity Points to Lima, Peru

Hi all,

I have exactly 120,000 velocity points and was hoping to use these to go to Peru later this year.

I have no experience or knowledge around using points and searching the velocity site has been pretty confusing!

Am I able to use these points to fly with Qantas? What are my options?

Velocity Points allow you to redeem via Partner Airlines.

Velocity is the Frequent Flyer program for Virgin, not Qantas; I'd be surprised if you could use them on Qantas …

You can't use Velocity points on Qantas flights. You can use Velocity points for Virgin Australia and their partner airlines.

You can book Virgin and partner airlines thru the velocity website.
If you don't have enough points I'd consider booking a reward flight to LAX and pay for the flight down to Lima.

  Just having a look, it doesn't look like they offer reward flights to South America at all. So would second trying to redeem for flights to the US and then paying to fly down to Lima.
  
  Looks like you should have enough points for an economy return flight from the east coast of Australia to LA. The problem will be finding availability however, as reward flights to the US are generally hard to come by.

Thanks everyone. I am thinking it might just be easier to sell the points and put the money towards the ticket that way
