Looks like a repeat of the below deal:

INSTORE ONLY - product not on Bunnings website.

Was in my local Bunnings store (Springvale, VIC) and noticed the shelf price of the Belkin Wemo LED Lighting starter kit for $54 and globes for $17.90. Sounded cheap, so off to google & ozb I went to confirm…… Yep RRP $149, OW currently at $97, and Bunnings $54.

I called the OW call center and they advised it's not a stocked line online, and supply time would be 14-21 days direct from manufacturer and as a special order cant price match, but advised some stores that had stock…..so I went to the Highett, VIC store of OW and got them to price beat for $51.30. These products are not listed on the Bunnings Website, so the rep had to physically call Springvale to confirm price, stock, and that it was not a clearance.
The next day I went to purchase an additional globe and was told the only store with stock was Oakleigh South, VIC or Moorabbin, VIC - but on arriving at store there was none - and wont be re-stocked as it is a deleted line on clearance - I asked them to check the LED kit which they advised was not clearance, but most likely will be in the next month or so. Purchased another one because at $54 for two globes (plus a spare Link controller) it's still cheaper than OW globes individually at $39. A word of warning though - the electrical isle at Bunnings always has plenty of empty boxes, so it looks like they have heaps of stock, but the physical stock is located within the tool shop so that's where you need to check.

This isn't a new product - it has been around for some time, and not available on Belkin website, so looks like it might be discontinued. In terms of functionality though, I can't fault it. Yes it did take some time to setup, as it mandates a firmware upgrade which took about 15mins on a slow ADSL connection, but apart from that only 5mins to setup. Adding the additional globe was a breeze.

Guess you need to call your local Bunnings store to confirm stock, or be nice to your OW rep and get them to make the call. Happy Hunting.

  • A good price for these. Beware that not many places have stock. You might want to check that you can get the number of bulbs you need if you are starting out.

I paired my bulbs (and updated firmware) using the app, but I use Home Assistant to control my lighting.

  • Been these prices for last 6-12months. Clearing out stock.

Probs better off getting colour xiaomi bulbs for less and not having to worry about the hub. Thanks for sharing though

    • I agree…I have two Wemo starter kits from previous deal when Dick Smith were closing down. Was a PITA to get the second lot of bulbs working with the hub. I also find sometimes the hub drops off the network, annoyingly. If I had my time again I'd buy either Xiaomi or Lifx RGB which don't require a hub.

      • My Wemo maker drops off the network too sometimes. Annoying when that's my only way of getting into the house.\
