400

Cheapest I've been able to get the Garmin Fenix 5.
Rebel sport 20% off sale, including new Garmin Fenix 5,5S,5X
I price matched a Fenix 5 at Harvey Norman for $639.20 and then used Amex offer (spend $350 and get $50 back) to make it $589.20!

I'll edit post when I get home but since the rebel sale is only one day I wanted to let others know! Beats the recent eBay deal which has you waiting for 5+ weeks!

I can submit my receipt if others require!

Well since you can't share your deal I guess us mere mortals will need to settle for this deal.

    • Apparently your image exists in some inter- dimensional space vampire pedo conspiracy

Nah I took it down. Feels like I'm upsetting people that wasn't the plan. :(

        Oh well

        • Haha.. Don't take anything too seriously here.. This is after all OzBargain!

          Hey xenoic

There are often cases where we get an exclusive bargain that no others can get and we wanna tell the world. It's a buzz, especially if it is something cool!!..but this site is about helping people get a good bargain, not about flaunting our own personal wins. It comes across as being immature or just having poor awareness.

I'm sure you didn't mean to upset people though.

gloating about getting a staff price just makes you look like a douche

  • How did you get that xenoic?

      • +1

Can you on share that on to me??? ;)

      • and me

  • Same deal with 5X on price matching. Can use two Amex cards to bring it to $699.20

    • I'm trying to figure out what the main differences are between each variant. The 5X has maps, is that correct?

      • +3

I'd suggest checking out DCRainmaker's review of the units :-)

        Link Here

        • Cheers

      • Main differences are the sizes. All watches have maps when connected to phones, except 5x can act as a standard alone GPS.

Given the cost of these, I wish Garmin would be a bit more generous with their warranty. I would be more confident knowing I was covered for at least 2+ years.

    • Statutory warranty

  • Can't decide between the 5 and 5X!

    • Go 5X

    • 5X is bugger watch face and has maps and sapphire. Based on a lot of reviews the maps are only useful if you actually do lots of hiking.. don't think I would
Ever use the maps if within phone range. Watch face was too big for me as well. Apparently non sapphire screen is still very scratch resistant. I watched a few videos on YouTube (ritzknows)

      • The maps are unlikely to be worth it on the trails.

Load your phone up with a decent openstreetmaps based mapping app (e.g. galileo) and its going to be much better than squinting at them on your watch.

      • Also note the Sapphire versions have wifi (the base model doesn;t) …. if you like the convenience of being able to sync via wifi (like I do) then you will need the more expensive units.

        • its true for Fenix 3 but not for Fenix 5!

        • And battery life is a few hours better on the Fenix 5 vs 5X (I believe due to wifi).

        • Forerunner 935 comes with wifi

        • I would also check out the Garmin forums with the comparison between the 935 and F5 …https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?374004-Fenix-5-Conversion-Club/page6

  • Thanks OP! Missed seeing the Rebel deal, but this flagged on my Garmin ozbargain alert! Snagged myself the just released Forerunner 935 for 559 (from $699)

What's the deal about such expensive watches? I am actually asking.

    • Sorry, what are you asking?

      • +1

I have found the answer. Thanks.

The watches in this post have specific features/modes that are useful for a variety of sports such as Running, Cycling, Swimming, Triathlons, Hiking, Trail Running etc. These ones generally have greater features than some of the lower cost Garmin watches which may be only for running (so may not support Triathlons/Swimming), may not support metrics like Running Dynamics (cadence/vertical oscillation etc), may not include some sensors (e.g. Temperature, Barometer, Digital Compass) or lack a colour screen (this has been a recent [2-3 yrs] development in the fitness watch industry).

  • Would this price still be avaliable anywhere?

I really wanted a 5x and rang HN today but they wouldnt price match rebel as its sold out on the website.
