Not sure whether to post this in automotive or mobile, but how do you place your phone in your vehicle? If you purchased a product, what model was it? How much was it? User experience?

In the middle of the windscreen so I can charge it. The red rubber bits eventually fell off because it couldn't hack an Australian summer, so had to superglue them back (they're necessary as the phone will slide out of the holder if they aren't there).

This one with the red rubber bits. Works great for $2. Might not be big enough for a larger phone, but works fine with iPhone 6 size.
Only issue is you kind of need two hands to put it in.
Have seen the exact same one in stores for something stupid like $30.

I liked my magnetic mount as well, but the metal disk would stop my wireless charging from working.

It's great - holds my iPhone without issues and was cheap and easy to move around the car.
I'm surprised that so many people use air vents ones. I would never give up an air vent. A/C is life!
I like this one as it sits up on top of the dash, ideal for speedo or visual check on GPS.
I push it deep enough on the dash to touch the windscreen which makes for a rigid mount with zero vibration and less refocusing of the eyes.
My phone is a slim 5.5" Oppo R7s and it never moves plus the stand can be thrown in the glove box when not in use, no gluing, no suction cup and no vent blockage :)

Am using this WizGear Magnetic Car Vent Mount
It's handy because the spigen phone cases come with a insert for a metal plate inside the phone case. The magnet is strong and I have to kind of roll the phone off so I don't pull the entire mount off. Wizgear have other types of magnetic mounts apart from the air vent.
