For music I think Sonos is better.
They also have a better app which is the other factor to consider as you are essentially buying into a system.
The Bose is no slouch though. It's just that the Sonos edges it out for music.
Thanks dbun1, and for movies?
Both sound pretty good I reckon Bose has better virtual surround, But sonos has the better app for streaming and multiroom
I recently installed a Yamaha ysp-2700. It has much better reviews than the Bose and it's cheaper. I was impressed at how impressive the Yamaha sounded!
If you demo a soundbar, make sure you do it in a closed room, otherwise the speakers will not work properly. It rebounds sound off walls. I was surprised how impressive the surround sound was from a single speaker box.
If you don't have a shortage of space or an excess of money, I recommend regular speakers. But, the ysp is very cool (especially smart phone integration, internet radio, etc).
How does the sound quality compare to the Sonos Playbar?
