They sell gold layered jewellery or gold.

    • +2

"Gold layered" is a fancy way of saying "gold plated" which is a fancy way of saying "not gold."

      • aka under 5% gold

      • +3

That is why OP should add to the title or description that it is gold layered not white gold as mentioned in title. It is misleading

        • +1

OP should add 'gold plated', to avoid any confusion… wtf is this 'gold layered' term, first time I've ever heard of it? No wonder they're going out of business.

    • We sell 18 carat gold layered jewellery, all our jewellery is layered onto jewellers brass.

'We sell 18 carat gold layered jewelry…'

        Actually, you don't.

You don't seem to understand that your lack of hyphenation (etc.) renders your statements completely false and misleading. Methinks that is why you are going out of business.

A piece of '18 carat gold layered jewelry' would be something made entirely from 18 carat gold, that had a layered appearance. Like a rice paddy.

What you are trying to say (or rather, trying NOT to say?) is that you sell brass jewellery, plated with 18 carat gold. What I was getting at re the hyphenation was that you could have maintained a shred of integrity with the simple inclusion of a hyphen, as follows:

'We sell 18 carat gold-layered jewelry'.

But frankly, even that is misleading, in the Australian market. You should have just been 'straight-up' from the start, and included the words 'gold plated' in your original post. You would not have attracted any negs, if you had done that.

misleading title. gold plated /= gold
gold plated stuff tends to loose its lustre over time, depending on how thick the gold layer is. I'm prepared to bet it's not very thick.

Thanks!! Always need jewellery that im not scared to loose on a drunken night out haha 2 rings and 2 earrings for $28 posted. Thats cheaper than zamels!!

        Hahahaha!!!

Be careful how you polish that.

        • Just like any piece of fine jewellery frequent cleaning is recommended to maintain its true beauty, using a good quality jewellers cloth will give you the best results, DO NOT USE JEWELLERY CLEANER.

        • @alluregold: I'm sure that is good advice for the maintenance of Member subywagon's particular accoutrement.

  • This a genuine closing down sale. We have been in business for 10+ years and have kept a solid price and never discounted.
Our jewellery is quality jewellery that is layered multiple times and made in the USA. It cannot be compared to plated jewellery with a thin coat of gold like jewellery from China on eBay.
You can see the prices that we sold for years ago on ‘web.archive.org’ and see that we are not inflating prices to sell a ‘fake’ bargain.
The prices we are selling for are well below what we paid and it’s a very sad time for us as the business is closing down.
It’s a shame that people like PJC have nothing better to do than spend their time attacking genuine businesses who are actually selling stock well below cost price and ruining it for other people on Ozbargain as well as offending people.

  • Feel free to press the 'report' button and complain to the Moderators that nasty man PJC found a necklace of the same design, same length, same thickness, also white gold layered, at a fraction of your price. I really don't mind, but we all know who wants $29.90 instead of $8.99.

    Before posting a bargain
Is this really the best price on the web? Check for the lowest prices.

It is my understanding eBay is still on the web. My example is made in China, suddenly yours is made in USA, a claim which you know is undisclosed on your product page or title and description here. Searching USA on your website reveals …

    NOTHING FOUND
Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.

… perhaps I spelt USA incorrectly.

We come here for bargains; you have not yet posted one.
