First Time Booking with AmEx Travel Using Travel Credit, Points + Cash, How Does It Work?

Hi All,

So I've booked my return flights with Amex Travel using a combination of travel credit, points and cash. I had to do it over the phone as their card authentication system was down.

I have some questions as it's my first time using them.

Am I meant to get some form of ticket or barcode or something which I take to the counter to get my boarding pass? I just have a pdf confirming my booking but nothing like a QR code or barcode ….
If booked with Delta airlines do I just go to the usual Delta airlines counter to get my boarding pass?
How do I select my seats? I selected my seats when I was browsing online but when it didnt go pass the card authentication page they asked for the booking reference number when I made the booking over the phone. I assumed I would get the same seats but nothing on my booking confirmation pdf says ive been allocated a seat… here's hoping I don't have to fight club my way to secure a seat….

    I haven't booked with AMEX Travel before, but I'm guessing like most travel agencies they would've sent you a booking number/code that you can plug into Delta's website to check

    If there is no booking number call AMEX Travel

    Likewise, I basically have a meaningless piece of paper, nothing from the actual airline to confirm they have a booking. I didn't get seat selection or anything - just picked flights, enter name/address/phone/email, press pay.

    Just AMEX saying "yeah it's cool take our word for it".

    Only open M-F so will call them next week to try and get an airline confirmation code.

    Being USA, I'm sure airline requires ETSA or whatever it is details upfront… Qantas needed all of those, so unsure how they could be skipped this time.

    Okay, I've figured it out. Go to the airline website of the flights you booked in, check the status of your flights, punch in details name, Airline Booking Ref from the email amex sent you and you should be able to select seats, online check ing etc.
