Need Some Advice on Getting a Laptop

Hello,

My Mothers been wanting a laptop for quite some time now and I thought what a perfect opportunity with her birthday coming up soon. She fell in love with my macbook pro and wanted to grab one however after I told her how much they were she decided against it, haha. While she didnt know the price, She was looking at the pink one, rose gold? and loved it. So the obvious decision is to get her the macbook 12inch however she uses the numpad a lot for work, She wont be working often but from time may do. This puts a pickle in the situation because macbooks dont come with numpads.

So my question is, Does anyone know any similar looking/feeling laptop (With a numpad)? or should I just get the macbook?

Apperciate any guidance

      Macbook is USB-C, so you would need to buy a Multiport Adapter (extra).

        Anyone who bought a Macbook would own a Usbc to usba adapter anyway. Or just buy a Usbc version.

    So your Mum wants a pink laptop with a numpad, why buy a Macbook? There are host of reasons why people want Macbooks some valid and some not, but it sounds like your Mum has 2 main criteria only one of which is satisfied by a Macbook. This again begs the question, why would you therefore buy a Macbook?

      She bought a laptop last year and has gotten dreadfully slow and seems very turned off with 'windows' computers. She does own a mac mini and she likes mac osx. Think its more the premium build tbh.

        Have you thought about what she needs from the laptop?

        If she only uses a web browser and does not use any programs that are OS-specific, you could get a Chromebook.

        Chromebooks can range from the very cheap (and nasty) to fairly premium ones, but even a very good Chromebook can be had for around $500-ish.

        The reason I suggest a Chromebook — many novice computer users don't know how to (or neglect to) learn how to maintain a computer. Chromebooks are best in the regard that the user cannot install crapware on it and leave it to run slower and slower.
