What about paying bills for family members on card and being reimbursed with cash from them?
A popular one is to book a business class plane ticket for a year later and cancel it when the points are credited.
Was going to suggest this too. Qantas charge 1.3% but it's capped at $11. Make sure you check the fare rules before booking though to make sure you select a refundable (without a fee) fare. Some of the business class fares still have a cancellation fee, such as $600 for flights to Asia.
Oh wow, some good tips and a nice way to get points. I think that might be just about the best way I have ever heard of to get the spend. I will have to double check cancellation fees if I go ahead.
Edit: What does refund for journey travelled mean?
Do they pay the money back to the same credit card? Can I use one or more visa gift cards for this purpose?
