strongly considering getting a macbook pro, just wondering if any of you are kind enough to share any deals you may know of that are running atm?
the best I can find is the edu discount which brings it to $1400. no 10% off apple discount that I know of. RRP is 1500.
any suggestions, please share :)

Curtin Computer Shop have it for $1390. I'm not sure if this is after the education discount, but I suspect it is. Probably worth giving them a call to ask. :)

In my experience JB HiFi are USELESS when it comes to price-matching Macs. DSE on the other hand have been most accommodating.

Co-op Bookshop member's discount is slightly cheaper than normal Education price. If you're a member go to their site and follow the link through to their Apple store.
The ed discount is best if you can get it, as its available at all times.
I know JB will price match, tell them your mom works at Myer and gets 10% off, that may work. Or hang around the Myer staff entrance with a charming smile…. LOL
