Just be wary that it is not VDSL as well so is not compatable with FTTN NBN. You'll have to purchase another modem when you're connected. Apart from that, great modem router combo.

    • Which is quite useless for most people in Australia since they would be on FTTN NBN. So why buy just an ADSL2+ modem then if are on FTTN.

I'm getting FTTN NBN connected soon i bought a D-Link DSL-2885A VDSL2 modem that's on clearance for $129, although it's an AC1200 wireless instead of AC1900 and that's fine for me.

    • Does that mean it'll be compatible with FTTC? Kinda confused

      • Not sure what FTTC is, but whats the point of getting a D9 if you are getting any sort of NBN? You may as well get a C9 or another router. There's no need for the modem in the D9 unless you have ADSL.

FWIW, I have a D9 and it's cheap but not perfect. Firmware is very basic and I can't get the port forwarding to work nomatter what settings I use. I'm changing to Asus routers in preparation for the NBN and so that I can get port forwarding to work.

        • Port forwarding works fine. Not sure what your problem is.

You think 'most people' in Australia are on NBN?
I don't agree with that claim at all.

    • This. I bought the D9 a few years ago and have been on ADSL the whole time. It's been very reliable, but as we will be moving house soon and will likely switch over to cable prior to NBN being available, at best this will become a bridge. We'll have to use the supplied cable modem or look at alternative.

  • I need a new wifi modem / router, have been interested in this model with all the deals thats been coming up. But looking for discussion on this modem on whirlpool seem to suggest that this is a discontinued model because of buggy firmware. People here seems to be positive about this model. I'm confused.

So, Is this a stable modem? How has it been for those that have bought it?

  • Is it C5AUS expired? I got this "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."

    • NBN (HFC) is coming to my area in July/aug, any one know is this modem router Will this work with NBN HFC?

      • The NBN HFC is a cable connection I think you need to use their modem/router but of course you can still use this as a WiFi Access Point.

        • Thanks,
