Last minute-ish return flights from SYD to LAX, what day should I buy my tickets?

Hi all,

I'm trying to book some return flights from Syd to LAX with dates of 17/18 June to 8/9/10 July. I remember reading an article somewhere that there was a day in the week where flights usually go on sale (especially for virgin) but I cant remember what day was it? I'm inclined to say Thursday? Anyone have any ideas?

    Tuesday or Wednesday or usually cheapest days to fly on.

    I believe they normally do Thursday's for specials but that doesn't mean you'll get that for the flights that you want. Normally prices increase as you get closer to the date because they know they bulk of people travelling so soon are because they have to or they have no other choice.     8/9/10 could be an issue as these are in school holiday time, generally these can be much more expensive, due to demand
