Hi all,
A little while back, my wife and I decided to build a website that collates all the women's clothing available for hire in Australia into one easy, super-fast website. It is currently listing over 2,500 items from around 15 different online rental companies.
Here's the link: All The Dresses
My wife and her friends are avid dress renters. With new online rental websites spawning up frequently of late, she thought it would be great to be able to easily browse, search & compare across all of those websites. And so, All The Dresses was born.
The site was only made public last night. I thought it'd be a good idea for the discerning folk here to be some of the first to check it out and give us feedback.
The website follows a very similar concept to well-known online destinations such as ShopStyle, Lyst and Polyvore, with the difference being that it focuses purely on items for hire.
Why would OzBargainers be interested in this?
- Online clothing rental makes designer clothing accessible, and most importantly, AFFORDABLE, for everyday women. Many women aren't willing to pay RRP for a dress they'll only wear once!
- All The Dresses allows shoppers to compare pricing, styles & sizing across all the leading online rental companies from the one beautiful user interface.
- If you've found the perfect dress to hire, but the website you found it at doesn't have your size, or availability for your event date, you can use All The Dresses to quickly find out what other websites also stock that dress.
We've got a bunch of ideas for the future, with the main ones being:
- Allowing users to save items to a Favourites list
- Filter/search by date availability (many of the online rental companies don't have this themselves so it may be a while before we can support it)
- Incorporating postage into the rental price
Please provide your feedback and let me know if you notice any glitches. The website is fully mobile optimised, but you'll get a much better user experience on desktop/laptop.
Cheers!
is this service open to men who… uuuhhh….have to dress as a woman….uumm…..for… a theater production? I'm asking for a friend.
