Not as good as the grays online vapourware deal, but pretty good for something that actually exists

      i missed on that deal.

why didn't I pull the trigger.

  • These are getting pretty cheap!

  • In your opinion, would you get this Crucial one instead for $30 less and from Aus?

      No

      Crucial arent great quality

      • I have to agree on this.

but local warrenty will give the additonal security in case it fails. just my opinion.

      • They're not that bad. For their price they are still very good.

Using a 512GB Crucial in my XPS 15 9550 and has been excellent. But honestly I think the price of any 1TB drive is way too much atm, I'm waiting for them to drop to a reasonable amount…

      • price per GB is pretty much the same between 500GB and 1TB SSDs, if anything 1TB is a bit better.

        • I wont pay $400 + for a hdd regardless of price per GB, its too much % of the price of the pc it goes into. With some uses like gaming you really need 1TB these days…

I haven't bought an SSD in a while. I thought they would be cheaper by now.

I just checked and I bought this SSD in Feb '16 for $354.71 (at least according to an Amazon email).

Apparently there's been NAND shortages for quite some time now which is driving up the price of SSDs (source) and this is also seen with DDR4 RAM due to newer smartphones increasing the demand as well (source).

  • tempting but wasint there a slightly better deal not long ago ?
