Samsung Gear Fit 2 Promotion Invalid Claim!?

Hi,

I had signed up to the 25% Off Friends and Family discount on Optus for the Samsung S7 edge.

According to advertisements made on the page, the Gear Fit 2 Promotion was on until 27/03/2017 11:59pm AEST.

I had purchased/applied for the contract at approximately 10:00pm AEST on 27/03/2017.

I have just received an email with the following, from Samsung Promotions:

"Thank you for registering for the 'Samsung Gear Fit2 Promotion'.
Unfortunately your claim has been deemed invalid as you have purchased a product outside of the Promotional Period as defined in the terms and conditions of this promotion. As a result you are not eligible to receive a Gear Fit2."

Although my initial application for the contract was before the cut off date, the activation of the contract was on the 29/03/2017. However, why would Samsung advertise on the final day of promotion, that you will receive a Free Gear Fit 2 Watch with a Samsung mobile purchase, if they intend to make it an 'invalid claim'. This borderlines on False Advertising and would love some recommendations on what to do, and if possible, obtain contact with a Samsung Support representative.

  • What is the date and time that is printed on your purchase receipt? If it's outside their promotion period, then you're not eligible.

    If you have a problem with the date and time on your receipt, you should take it up with Optus rather than Samsung.
