this has been around for some time.

    • Hi apparently it is new. I have been using Parcel Locker ever since it came out and the post office advised that Aust Post have just changed the rules, hence the new validation.

    • Yeah been around for a while now. Auspost have not "just" changed the rules.

  • Almost every parcel I get by post requires a signature. How does that work with these parcel lockers?

    • From my understanding the retrieval of your item from the locker acts as your signature.

    • You punch in your contact number and a pin that they send you through SMS/Email

      • That just lets you into the locker. AusPost terms and conditions Here states parcels requiring a signature are not eligible for the locker system. Anybody have actual experience with this?

        • Many eBay listings will not ship to AU Post lockers.

        • No, I get many packages delivered from eBay, Aliexpress and other online places that would normally require a signature and in the past they just delivered into my locker. The trick is to ask eBay suppliers if they are using a courier or Aust Post. I understand that couriers can be much cheaper than Aust Post in some cases.

With the new process I needed to go in and manually sign - now if you provide license ID via MyPost you will no longer need to manually sign for those parcels.

        • @Diji1:

Delivery from overseas are generally delivered by Australia Post once the items have arrived in Australia.

Local sellers might use other delivery services (depending on costs)

I have had multiple items delivered to my parcel locker that required a signature.
When you sign up for the locker, it states that the entry of the code sms'd to you constitutes a signature.
I suspect they are just catching the few people who did not ID verify when they signed up (i did when they first launched)

Also, I suspect a fee for service is coming soon.
They sent out a survey a while back regarding what you would be willing to pay for a PL
Whether you prefer a yearly fee or a Pay Per parcel service (charged to your cc each time you collect a parcel)

    • Don't remember getting that survey.

Would probably not use it if it becomes a paid service though
