TheWhiskyClub.com.au: Is It Worth It?

My Fiance and I have been falling in love with Whiskey the past year, We wanted to know if the Whiskey Club was a good value way of experiencing new Whiskeys and wanted to see if anyone here was part of the club.

I've been a member for a year or so. I've now got way too much whisky!
There's no obligation to buy each month, and I've opted out several times when it didnt take my fancy.
That being said, everything I have got has been at least interesting, and in some cases amazing.
You'll get lots of unique single malts, some non age expressions, and some rare or uncommon blends from interesting distilleries.

I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have, and if you are feeling generous, you can use my referal link (msg me)

    edit

The one thing i would note is that you only have a small window to opt out or double up each month. I have a reminder on my phone to check my email and make the choice

off topic a little but try fireball whisky, doesn't even taste like whisky and so easy to drink.

    • Safe to assume OP wants a whisky that tastes like whisky and not just easy to drink. Maybe to enjoy it.

  • Another option is tasting events such as Whisky Live, which I have found useful for trying different whiskies rather than taking the risk of purchasing bottles and finding they don't suit your palate.

  • Quick comparison (by no means exhaustive) seems to suggest that of some of the ones they have offered that can be purchased at regular bottle shops, their prices are actually higher. Eg. compare the Benromach Organic (which I'm a big fan of) – $110 from Whisky Club, $100 from Dan Murphy's. Or the Glenfarclas 12YO: $125 from Whisky Club, $100 from Dan Murphy's.

I enjoy the Benromach Organic too, have you tried the Bruichladdich Organic? Even better!

And to the OP, save your money and take a trip to Japan. Significant savings to be had.

      • Yes, love the Bruichladdich Organic - on my list to buy for sure!

I just ended my membership because I ended up with too much whisky and its not exactly cheap. Let's be frank, you aren't getting a bargain with this club, you can easily track down the same bottles online from various other sources for the same price or cheaper

it is a bit of fun for a while though

  • i wouldve thought it's meant to be cheaper,being a subscription service…

  • Merged from The Whiskey Club - Recent Experiences and Thoughts

Hey bargainers, anyone subscribe to The Whiskey Club? Thewhiskeyclub.com.au

Keen to hear of people’s experiences and thoughts in relation to the whiskey itself and if you found out good value.

    Any input would be appreciated.

I'm subscribed. You just subscribe and skip months you don't like. I have a 2 bottle sub and sometimes I forget and fcking 2 bottles of Helllyers Road shows up and, I'm like, "F……………..CK!"

So subscribe if you want, it costs nothing, but they're counting on you to forget to cancel the shit months, and you pay for and receive shitsky.

Yeah, i can definitely see that happening, especially if busy or on holidays. Need to be vigilant with actioning the reminders. Thanks.
