Not even some Ass Kickin' Kick Yo' Ass Hot Sauce?

    • +1

They seem to always only have the mainstream stuff in stock….

    • +3

We tried our best to get as much stock in before the Anniversary sale, One container literally missed the boat… It's tough but it's one of our highest priorities this year. There's still 4th of July and Black Friday as well…

  • WOOOOO THANKS OP!!!

  • nice got a few things i've wanted to try for a while

  • Thanks just bought about 40 items..

  • Wish they had Sour Cream & Onion Pringles!

    • -2

these are know to damage one's gums

      • these, or any chips at all?

        • just the Sour Cream & Onion flavour powder

        • @seigweilo: Well, BBQs are carcinogenic .. but no one cares. :)

        • +6

@seigweilo: You must be fun in any social situation.

"Wish they had pringles" …. "they will damage your gums".

          That's like…

"The new iphone is coming out!" ….. "People commit suicide in their factories."

"Like my new jeans?" ….. "They use child labour."

"Wanna go to John's BBQ?" ….. "BBQs are carcinogenic."

        • -2

          @eug:

          exactly my point.

        • @eug:
          you cant handle the truth!

    • Does it taste different to the one available in Australia?

      • +1

Yeah.. we used to get the American-made ones but mid last year they changed to Malaysian-made Pringles. Huge difference in taste, texture, and size. Quite a few people weren't happy about it - 1,300+ comments.

        • +1

That's sad. Although I understand it is a business decision (Lower cost in Labour, shipping, ingrident…etc), I would rather they increase the price than making a complete different product :(

      • +3

in terms of flavour, nothing beats US Pringles

      • Pretty sure you can still get the US made ones (with the different flavours) at Cheap As Chips.

        • Pity the closest store to me is a 16hr drive to Broken Hill NSW. :)

    • +2

We hear ya! More pringles coming soon - We just tried some new flavours called LOUD and they went pretty well.

  • +4

Ohh..Thanks will take a look. Forgot about their website tbh.

/Edit: So much is out of stock..Now I remember why I forgot about this site because of this issue and their prices seem kinda high considering how much the stuff actually costs in the states. Just for interest put 4 things in my cart that I'd like to try and shipping was going to cost over $8 for standard or $13 for express…I can buy from the USA and pay that type of shipping.

    • Yep, their prices are pretty high. craving some of the american cereal, but i'm not paying $15 for a box.

      • +1

Big items take up lots of space on a container unfortunately, that's why they're pricy.

    • +3

Really mate? You're joking right? Have you tried sending a parcel with Australia post? Cheapest is around $8 and that doesn't including packaging material. You think you can get cheaper from the states anywhere near that price after exchange rate AND ship it to Australia? Why do people think they're entitled to free postage? As a small business owner I know that postage prices are insane and people for some reason expect me to front the cost.

      • I'm just saying what I've experienced while shopping online no need to chuck a wobbly. Didn't mention anything about feeling "entitled" to free shipping either.

      • So roll the costs into your pricing and ship for 'free'. Customer is happy, you don't lose a cent.

        • +1

If postage was included, then a $4.99 can of pringles would be what, $10? 2 cans $20?

        • That also eliminates combined postage incentives for the customer

I'm very curious to what classifies as expensive shipping.

We have a full time staff team that hand pick and pack each order which consists of millions of different varieties to what each customer wants, so every box is different. Our cubic dimensions for shipments are bigger than most other retailers out there, you order a $40 makeup item or a $120 electronic device which is packed into one box and shipped, usually pretty small, but our items are all different shapes, sizes and made of different materials.

There's a big packing expense with packaging materials and the price of the box and pay our staff a fair wage. We then take the estimate of the weight and postcode and it goes directly into Australia Post's API on our website which calculates in real-time a pretty solid estimate for how much it will cost to ship it from 3189 to your location. We still are a small family owned business, with one warehouse location so we can only ship from Melbourne. Perhaps in the future as we grow we can offer awesome things like free shipping (which we did try in the past) but for now it's not viable for our business.

$8 to us seems more than fair for a decent sized box to be shipped, but we could be wrong - we'd love to know. There are some locations that have to pay $30+ for standard shipping (Country NSW/QLD etc.). We'd love to get those costs down as much as possible.

There are always ways we can improve in our estimates, and we're always open to constructive feedback. In the end: we're here to help you get American food you usually can't get at the best price that we can offer it.

Stingy OzBargainers is all. A lot of them are used to buying overseas from stores that sell completely different products with free shipping. I made a large order with a lot of Dr Pepper and think your shipping is very reasonable. A lot better than Spend X to get free shipping.

      • I never said shipping was expensive I'm just saying I've paid around the same price for shipping from the USA itself.

I'm sure $8 is fine if you've got a variety of different goods in your purchase - given everything comes in different sizes and weights but when you have a smaller purchase like my example below you'll see why I thought it was a bit high.

For my example, I placed in 4 bags of chewing gum (Big League Chew) which weigh only 60g each and the shipping came to $8 which I thought was a bit much considering it's not alot in the scheme of things.

        That's all :)

      • Looked at www.e-go.com.au ?

    Im having a look
Man I detest websites that dont let you purchase as a 'guest' and make you create a new login account just to buy from them #rage

    • Noted!

  • +2

Yeah ok, but do you still leave paying customers waiting to pay at the counter while you finish your own private phone call?

    • +1

their customer service is truly American (i joke i joke)

    • Apologies for this, we do our best but our employees are human as well.

      • Hi, thanks for that

This was way back when you had a small store off Center Road across from the train tracks

Do the math how long ago that was, worse it was the older lady, the owner….

Like the elephant i don;t forget

        Cheers

        • +1

That was a LONG time ago! Things have changed heaps since then! We hope you'll give us another chance if you come down to moorabbin, or better yet you can order online for pickup and all you'll need to do is verify your ID and grab your stuff quick and easy :)

Damn, Diet Mountain Dew is still out of stock

    • We don't bring a lot in because it goes out of date very quickly, then sits around while people ask for fresh stock. Diet drinks don't have a good shelf life unfortunately.

  • +4

    "Foods" ??? Oh these Americans

  • no American Nestle Crunch :(

  • Can anyone comment on any of their hot sauces?

    • +1

I've tried pretty much all of the Dave's Gourmet hot sauces and they are all great, nice and hot with great flavours. Also Frank's hot sauce is very flavourful and not super spicy, you can get small bottles at Woolworths for about $3 but after you try it you can then buy the 1 Gallon bottle from USA foods for $30($24 with this discount).

    • +2

Good all rounded with a bit of a kick = Frontera/Tapatio/Louisiana/Franks
      Mid tier = Ass Kickin'
      Hot and flavourful = Dave's
Blow your head off and flavourful = Dave's Insanity or Blair's

      • Thanks for the reply. Too late now since I already ordered, but I did get some of the Dave's and one of the Insanity and Louisiana.

  • NICE! Just bought one of every bag of coffee grounds they have. :D

  • Thanks OP! Bought ingredients for Magnolia banana pudding :D :D :D

  • +3

Cheers OP. Grabbed a few things guaranteed to add weight to my waistline.
    :)

  • Thanks OP, ordered a few bits and bobs :-)

  • +1

I was hoping Snyder's pretzels would be in stock, but cheers for the code!

  • Is all of your stock American made? I don't want to purchase products only to find it is just imported from China to the U.S. then sent to me.

  • This is a joke right? Nothing's in stock

    • You're 15 hours late to the party.

  • I went into a small grocery store in Sydney several month ago… and bought a can of Sunkist Strawberry soft drink. (Pretty sure it was Sunkist anyway - it was the same as the other main brand of orange soft drink every supermarket sells that's like fanta.) Never seen it before, or since. Is that a USA product?

  • Great savings and I live close so pickup with no shipping.
Saved close to 10% online and then 20% on top of that makes the prices tolerable. The clearance items are great value. Got 10 packs of sunflower seeds for cheap.
    Happy birthday USA Foods

    My fave USA Foods anecdote…
A few years ago a mate had his 40th birthday coming up, and he is a big fan of American motor racing legend Carroll Shelby, and Texas Chilli. Shelby has his own brand of Texas Chilli mix, so 3 months before the birthday I asked a mate, who lives in North Carolina, to get me some as a birthday present for my local friend.
Two weeks before the birthday I am talking to the mate in the USA again and I asked if he has found the mix. Typically, he had forgotten, but says he will sort something out.
Not 15 minutes later he emails me, to report that he has ordered some mix and it is on the way to my office. I assumed he had got it at a market in Charlotte, but 2 days later it arrives — not from the US but from USA Foods, which was about 5km from my office in suburban Melbourne.
Great service. I have been in plenty of times since and they always have some interesting stuff, and not that expensive.
OK, now back to the dollar-saving…

  • While I will probably regret this, I now get to find out Cap'n Crunch tastes like.

    • I ordered Twinkies, pop tarts and creamers. I'm definitely going to regret this.

  • Life is good! I've got 1.3kg of Lucky Charms and 2kg of Maraschino Cherries on the way.

    Happy Birthday, USA Foods. :)

  • title said that 20% discount including postage.
but it seems that discount apply for product only.
can anyone confirm that 20% apply for shipping too?

  • I spent a good hour on their site the other night making up an order I had nearly 50 items and went off and made tea when I came back I added two more items and went to check my basket and it said there was only those two items in my basket. The other almost 50 items were gone the website must've refreshed while I was away so didn't bother wasting my time again.

  • USA Foods… I was going to place an order today but I notice the code is expired… have i missed it?! 😭
