    • it died because they didnt do any single player DLCs

      • How does single player promote online play exactly?

      • …yet?

    • +8

It's not dead by any means. They're making bank on bank with the shark cards, especially on consoles.

    • +20

Do you mean the game that is constantly on the top 5 of Steam's peak and current playing charts?

      • +2

while it is no where near it's heyday of 350,000-ish people concurrent around launch, it is still in the top 10 games being played on Steam since it launched. they have also brought in something incredible like $500,000,000 (yes half a billion) just from the shark cards alone.
there are a lot of people who are playing gtav on modded servers and still so many people playing the san andreas mp mods.

    • +4

You mean that game that was number one selling on Steam last year?

      Totes.

  • +2

    That's a lot of $15 hookers

    • +7

You pay $15 for hookers, what sort of Ozbargainer are you?

      Reported to the mods.

      • +5

I pay for them and then kill them

        • +1

          Too bad it's not 100% return =(

        • @ProjectZero: Makes you wonder what those hoes did with the money in the 2.5 nanoseconds between the time they open the car door to the time they get shot in the head.

        • @ChillBro:
They're Fast enough to open their mobile phone and deposit the money in their bank account - only need to this if they're holding more than $5k before they respawn.

      • Relevance to the original topic?

        • +8

          Ummm it's GTA……………….

        • +4

          Hookers are always relevant.

    • +1

      A $15 hooker??

I'd expect the whole night for that!

  • +2

Is it worth buying GTA Online alone with this or should I wait for a special on game + shark cards or whatever they call it? Meaning is it enough to "get going" assuming I'm following guides to start with.

    • Not with this to be honest. I would just look on Kinguin and buy it there.

This game is very difficult to enjoy if you don't have friends playing with you. I soft quit the game because most of my friends don't play often enough. You'll find that without 3 friends it'll take ages to find ransoms for jobs (particularly heists as grinding these out is what makes you money) and the randoms will generally be bad at the game, dying and failing the mission over and over.

GTAO is all about buying stuff for the sake of buying expensive stuff. You can have 100 million GTA$ and still not be able to buy absolutely everything in the game. It's a huge grind, but feels somewhat rewarding for a while. You can usually grind out 625,000 every 40 minutes with a team of friends playing the Pacific Standard heist, personally I think it gets repetitive fast.

There are also a bunch of other mini games and free mode is always fun once you've unlocked a couple things but again these are always better with friends.

As for this 425k, it's relatively little in the grand scheme of things, but it's a nice boost to get you to a high end apartment quickly, which is what is needed for starting heists. The shark cards I find useless as 1.5 million can be spent with a click of a button in this game, and not much to show for it.

My opinion of GTAO is very high but the reliance on having friends to play with and the grind of getting cash sometimes dampers the fun.

      My 2c

      • Can confirm.
None of my mates play GTAO and I'm a noob At the online part.
Asked multiple times in chat what do i do but nobody cares or ever answers lol.
played online for about 1 hour but hella boring.

If you don't have any real life friends to play it with, it can be quite fun in an organised crew. I use https://www.reddit.com/r/rebl and there are other ones focused on cooperative play in public sessions.

        • @The Land of Smeg:
          Interesting
          Thanks!!
          Are they Aussie?

        • @Hirolol: For PC, there are a handful of Aussies who are regular and as well as quite a few non-Aussies on at around the same time as we're usually on. I haven't been on for a couple of months however but looking to come on again soon. I also run a crew of "friendly only people" in public sessions (PC only, but there are other crews on XB1/PS4) which are all fairly large but I'm only going to name these groups unless anyone genuinely wants to play that way for obvious reasons

      • +1

And you better like looking at loading screens
I come back to the game every few months and that's usually what makes me stop
Between randoms failing the mission and half the time spent on loading screens it can be more frustrating than fun.

My computer is fairly good so don't need to wait that long

    • R* technically describe it as buying GTA V, with online component come's free as an add-on.

You can sometimes buy bundles with extra $ / shark cards as you described. You'll want at least $500k so you can spend it all buying a very specific $500k bullet proof car which will make playing the game at least 10x easier, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that. It's indispensable in a lot of missions. As you get better, you may or may not need it, but for early on, it's far too useful to pass up on.

Another $500k would go a long way to buy an apartment to unlock further things.

    • Go one g2a or what ever just check all key shop for prices get one that goes through your rockstar account get gta 5 + megalodon shark card, most of the time it's cheaper than buying the game on its own and you get the game plus start with 8 mill in the bank.

  • I started online a week ago it's pretty fun even on my own. Don't play to'grind' play to enjoy it.

Also pm me if you want my IGN I'm like level 35 or something

  • How do I check that I received it?

I started a GTA Online Character on PC when it came out and only played the first few missions then left it at that. Fast forward ~ 2 years and I just logged in. I checked the Maze Bank transactions and can't see any deposit for around $450k there, however I do have nearly $1 million in cash which makes me think I may have received it?

    • +1

"to be deposited in your Maze Bank account during the month of May"

      • +1

Sounds like I'm putting in a deposit to ME Bank.

"It'll show up sometime next month".

  • Saving up for that jump jet.

    • How much is it? Just get a crew together to do the heist missions and get the mastermind achievement… Still haven't used up my 14m that I got from it… although I haven't played in a while lol

  • Hrmm, only reason i stopped playing online was because it was too hard to get money just by stuffing around.

This might get me back into it.

    Thanks OP

  • Thanks!
