ok price isnt ground breaking or anything and its ex demo BUT, it's 16:10. very hard to source that ratio now days without paying premium and those of you used it and switched to 16:9 would surely miss the extra vertical space.

What? The main use for a 16:10 is as a computer display.
Using it as a TV would be a waste as most content is either 4:3, 16:9, or 2.39:1.
What's their dead pixel policy? These are likely to be customer returns more than display stock.
But maybe he meant non-computer use simply because it's relatively cheap, but you have a good point, bigosmallo.
Nope, I disagree! The loss of ~50px vertical height top & bottom (each) is barely noticable even with 16:9 content, and utterly negligible at either 1.33, 2.35 or 2.39:1 ARs!
All other things being equal, at this price point you'd never miss them! :)
Yes it is noticeable.
Especially the extra width that never gets used for normal desktop use.It might only be a few pixels but it is 3cm in height in difference between the aspect ratios on a 22" screen
@anthony: 29.6mm difference between native & 16:9 if you wanna be technical! That's 1.48cm top & bottom, and on a 22" screen at this price you'll soon forget about it! Remember, we're not talking anything like the real estate lost to even a 16:9 panel at 2.35:1 or greater! ;)
FWIW, I've got an old Acer 22" in my spare room I watch movies on, thru an Astone AP-300, same res/AR…the practical difference between that & my main 24" 16:9 at any sensible viewing distance is negligible! :)
Mind you, I'm not sure the built-in speakers on this one would sound as nice as my $25 Logitech Z-5's I picked up at Kmart on sale a while back, the Astone's USB port powers them nicely too…just the thing for when I've been exiled from the loungeroom for flatulence! :p
Wow comparing it to StaticIce:
http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=16%3A10&spo…This is indeed impressive for a 22" 16:10, although I have not heard of the brand.
I think it's an aldi brand? Maybe it's all the ones returned within 60 days?
Yep. These the ones that Aldi sells. Although its most likely not returns as it stats "Ex-demo" so they are likely the ones that you see in the glass shelves.
I bet they are returns. 60 days old could be considered a demo. I've seen my local Aldi knock a few dollars off the ones behind the glass.
was all excited until I read "1680 x 1050"
Why is that, if you don't mind me asking?
Does anyone know if these are mountable?
3 months warranty isn't exactly hot, but this might be a good purchase for non-computer use (e.g upgrading from an old CRT tv + add set top box)
