Osmolax 510g $10.95 at Amcal Pharmacy (compared to $18.99 Chemist Warehouse Price); Free Click and Collect

70

OsmoLax is going cheap at Amcal. Chemist Warehouse has the next cheapest price going at $18.99. Don't forget Cash Rewards which offers 6% cashback.

OsmoLax does not contain any electrolytes, so it does not have a salty taste. OsmoLax can be mixed with any liquid, hot or cold. The active ingredient in OsmoLax is called macrogol 3350. Macrogol is considered to be the ‘gold standard’ for the treatment of constipation, especially in children. In fact, macrogol containing laxatives are the most prescribed type of laxative by Australian doctors.

OsmoLax restores the body’s natural rhythm. It is virtually unabsorbed so it remains in the bowel and directs water into the stool. This lubricates and softens, as well as bulks the stool which stimulates the urge to go to the toilet.
The result is a natural and comfortable bowel movement.

OsmoLax is free from gluten, lactose, yeast and has no artificial flavours, colours or sweeteners.

    shit deal…

    thanks for posting.

    • A half scoop of Osmolax + 2 spoonfuls of benefiber works out cheaper and tastier than most vegetables.

The deal for people who don't give a shit.

Can confirm that it is easy on the palate - almost tasteless.

Also if you use Movicol, Osmolax is a very good replacement for it. I've got a disabled daughter who has constipation problems, and she uses this all the time.

I find it tastes much better than movicol and is cheaper too

can i use this for my next choclate brownie share day at work?

It's tasteless enough that it'll go into most things without any noticable taste…

Spend $60 and get free delivery.

Osmolax was even better value last weekend on Amcal's ebay store with the spend $50, get $10 back deal (2 crates arrived Friday, another 2 coming tomorrow). Unless the deal ends tonight, I'd wait until 10am tomorrow and see what ebay offers come up. Otherwise, you could try stacking cash rewards with Amcal loyalty points, though I've had mixed success combining them during previous Amcal Osmolax deals.

    • I'm running dangerously low on osmolax, and given my sleeping and eating habits during assessment periods aren't the greatest, I need osmolax urgently

      • You'll have to pick up in store then. Delivery usually takes 4-7 days, without taking account of public holidays like Anzac Day.

At the rates my kids go through it for their medical conditions (a 510g tub lasts about a week), we order more every time the cupboard drops below about 10 boxes so that there's some leeway in case we forget or if it takes a few weeks for a decent deal to turn up.

        • How often do osmolax or movicol deals show up? I go through a tub in about two months.

@niggard: This is a particularly good one because it works out at less than $10 if you stack it (eg cash rewards, Amcal loyalty program, ebay etc). On average, I'd say you can get it below $14 once a month, and we rarely pay more than $13. Sometimes the deals follow one another quickly, while at other times there can be a gap of 6-8 weeks.

Amcal is regularly part of the ebay deals and Chemist Warehouse has good prices when they're on sale. Also, Chemist Warehouse has a 10% price beat offer (http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/AboutUs/Why-Shop-With-Us) that can help at times, though it seems to depend on the store as to how easy it is to get them to do a match and how many they'll let you buy.

    bulks the stool

When I'm blocked, my stool is massive. I don't want to make them bigger, otherwise I'd need a Caesarean!

  • I just come to OzBargain and read JV's inane comments, keeps me regular.
