Anyone who got one and can share their experience with them. Is it worth the money?

The OP put in the effort to link to four separate review sites so the least you could do is read them!

Thanks OP for the details especially the review links, I read the Amazon reviews and am still on the fence if I need one.

Let's just say that they work NOTHING like you see on the infomercials.

I've had one for about 6 months.

pretty effective, we vacuum / sweep the floors and then steam them. steam jet can really clean in the tough places and melt the stuff off. Stuck on food in grout of kitchen tiles and then just use the mop head with a fresh microfibre to steam the tops of the tiles. don't have to use the karcher terry towel, though its pretty good, damp microfibre works well on the tiles.

Great for sterilising around the toilet lid hinges with steam and then wipe up, knowing its been wipred out.

  • Very good price, worth the money.

  • i want to buy a steam cleaner to clean my bathroom, but watching a youtube review on this unit, it seems the steam coming out of it is not even hot. The guy in the video had his hands directly in the steam and he didnt get burned. Can anyone confirm on this? Also would it be suitable to clean mold from tiles? thanks

    • it is steaming hot. you would still need to help with mould cleaner to assist, but the hot steam would assist.

  • Is this ok to steam clean carpets?

    • yes

  • I am assuming this is not meant for timber floors?

  • I am assuming this is not meant for timber floors?

    You assume wrong.

      Thanks for the detailed explanation.

        Thanks for the detailed explanation.

You made an assumption and provided no information so what do you expect! There are a multitude of different floors and finishes and the care of them varies so why don't you put on your big boy pants, open Google and search if steam is appropriate for your type of floor.

So insightful again. Why didn't I think about using Google and not rely on some knowledgeable Ozbargainer's personal experience on the usage of steam cleaners?

No information provided on what? Is steam ok for Tasmanian Oak but not ok for bamboo, you mean? Your valued contribution is duly noted and confirms the supreme lack of knowledge you have on this subject. Suggest you to continue playing Sims on your PC.

Instead of being obtuse why don't you list some pertinent information like the type of floor and it's finish…. But no you expect others to try and guess after you posted that it's no good.

          What do you think Sherlock!

Not only obtuse but you resort to attacking those who point out your lack of information and negative attitude along with an inability to help yourself.

The pertinent information like the type of timber floor and finish? Can you please let me know how the different kind of timber flooring and stain will react to steam cleaner, because no you don't know that, you only know how to be unreasonable and troll.

The Sherlock thinks you are totally inept on this subject.

No shit Einstein, that I have a lack of information - hence why I asked! But you know what, I for sure have more information than you have.

Hardwood versus softwood versus laminate and so forth…..
Polyurethane versus water based product versus oil and so forth…..

No shit Einstein, that I have a lack of information - hence why I asked!

You didn't ask, you said that this won't be any good for timber floors instead of asking a question and giving the pertinent information like "I have blackbutt t&g hardwood floors with a good polyurethane finish, is this product suitable for this floor type?"

        • @Maverick-au:

Hardwood versus softwood versus laminate and so forth…..

I know what the finishes are. Doesn't answer my question.

So along with your lack of knowledge in this subject, you also lack basic comprehension skills. Did you see a question mark at the end of my sentence?

  • I have one bought from officeworks after pricematch from bunnings. For what it is. It does the job.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE SPRAY THE STEAM ON SKIN. YOU WILL GET SCALDED.

  • Does anyone know whether this cleans the glass as well? or do we need a separate unit (Karcher WV 2 Plus Window Cleaner)?

    • cleans glass watch video here

      • Thanks mate. Not sure whether it can be used to clean Pavers in the balcony.

        • maybe your looking more for a outdoor high pressure hose? look at the above links ive added "Karcher K 3 Premium Home + Car" $429 down to $252 with bunnings price match

        • @RogueWolf: your link doesn't work anymore.

        • @ddaus: See what you mean, looks like retravision removed it, other Karcher products in the post are still active

        • @ddaus: ?out of stock

  • Back at $298. Bummer.

    • This is ridiculous! Looks like they are also keeping any eye on OzBargain.
